College Football Week 5 Picks – Super Six
Last week the Super Six plummeted back down to earth after a quick start going 1-5. The overall record on the season is now 8-9-1. With a new week and a slate of great games, it’s time to dig up some winners for week five in college football.
Each week I will release my Super Six for the weekend in college football. It will highlight six games on the college football schedule that are worth betting on with an explanation that features the latest odds and sports betting trends. South Florida at Pittsburgh
The South Florida Bulls are top ranked, but winning on the road is not easy. The line is a bit skeptical as the Bulls are only 2.5 point road favorites. That is because the sportsbooks are dying to reel in Bulls money. The Panthers are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a loss and they win this game outright.
Alabama vs. Florida
The Crimson Tide soundly beat the Razorbacks for a huge SEC win, but they have to get up for a road game against Florida this week. The Crimson Tide are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games as a road favorite of 3.5-10.0 and the Gators are 24-9 ATS in their last 33 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game. This one stays close enough to cash with the points.
Nebraska vs. Wisconsin
The Wisconsin Badgers are clicking on all cylinders right now. They are double digit favorites for a good reason when they host the Nebraska Cornhuskers. This is the first Big Ten game and the Badgers have to prove that they are for real. The Badgers are 10-0-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall and 5-0-1 ATS in their last six games as a home favorite. The Badgers stay perfect with a big win.
Clemson vs. Virginia Tech
After two huge wins for the Clemson Tigers, they now hit the road to take on the Hokies. The Tigers are a different team on the road and they will not be able to get up for another big game. The Hokies are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games as a favorite and they will ambush a Tigers team that is worn out. Hokies win big and have no problem covering the number in this divisional tilt.
Virginia Tech -7
Texas A&M vs. Arkansas
The Texas A&M Aggies better get used to big games now that they are a member of the SEC. They play the Hogs this week and are installed as three point favorites. The Razorbacks were run over by Alabama and they will be outmatched once again in this contest. The Aggies are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall and they win a big game.
Texas A&M -3
Kentucky vs. LSU
There is no doubt that LSU is in a different class than the Wildcats. LSU should demolish this team, but they might have some trouble getting up for this game. They have spent most of the season playing ranked teams and they will sleepwalk through this game with a win, but they won’t cover the number. The Tigers are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games as a home favorite of 10.5 or greater and will not cover the number in this SEC game.
