NFL Week 6 Betting Previews-Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens
Point spread: Baltimore -7
Over/Under: 45
The Houston Texans square-off against the Baltimore Ravens this upcoming Sunday afternoon at M&T Bank Stadium in an AFC tilt between two teams both trying to stay on top in their division. Kick-off is slated for 4:05 (p.m.) and the game will be broadcast regionally on CBS.
Houston comes into this game fresh off a 25-20 loss to Oakland as a 4.5-point home favorite. The loss dropped it to 3-2 both straight-up and against the spread on the year. The total stayed ‘under’ the 48.5-point line in this game and has now stayed ‘under’ in four of five games this season.
Along with the fact that this was a game they should have won, the Texans have to be even more concerned with their growing injury problems. All-Pro wide receiver Andre Johnson missed last Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury and remains questionable for this week and linebacker Mario Williams, who is easily their best player on defense, has been lost for the season with a torn muscle in his chest.
Fresh off a bye week, Baltimore is ready to pick up where it left off after hammering the New York Jets 34-17 in Week 4 as a five-point home favorite. The win lifted its record to 3-1 on the season both SU and ATS. The total has gone ‘over’ in all four games.
The Ravens have established themselves as one of the best teams in the league this season behind an offense that is ranked 14th overall and sixth in scoring to go along with a defense that is ranked third overall and first in points allowed. The only blip on the screen so far was an ugly 26-13 loss to Tennessee in Week 2 as 5.5-point road favorites.
Houston is 1-4 ATS in its last five games on the road and 1-5 ATS in its last six road games as an underdog. The total has gone ‘over’ in five of its last seven games on the road.
Baltimore is 8-2 ATS in its last 10 games following a bye week and 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games overall. The total has now gone ‘over’ in its last five games.
The Ravens beat the Texans last season 34-28 as three-point road favorites. The seven-point spread in this game is right on the money, so if it moves a half point in either direction, jump on that side with your pick.
