College Football Upset of the Week – Week 10
It’s the college football part of the season when all of the teams are laying it on the line to try and get to a big bowl game or win a conference title. The Big ten is no exception as recent losses have opened the chance for any team to have a shot at the Big Ten title that includes the Michigan Wolverines.
The opening college football odds are your first indication that this has upset city written all over it. The Wolverines opened up as just 3.5 point favorites on the road against Iowa and that opened up the flood gate for the public to bet on the Wolverines. The public consensus jumped on the Wolverines as over 71% put money on Michigan to cover this number. The line was moved up to four points with the public taking a shot and now Iowa looks like a tempting underdog at home.
Michigan has plenty of talent but quarterback Denard Robinson is very inconsistent and has been shaky in the past especially when it comes to throwing the ball. He has forced passes into double coverage and those types of risks can turn the tables in a game like this.
The sports betting trends is another indication that this game could be the cause for concern for Michigan backers. The Wolverines are 7-18 ATS in their last 25 games as a road favorite of 3.5-10.0, 16-33 ATS in their last 49 games as a favorite of 3.5-10.0, and 1-12 ATS in their last 13 games in November.
The Hawkeyes are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a home underdog, 11-3-1 ATS in their last 15 games as an underdog overall, and 31-12-1 ATS in their last 44 games following a loss.
The Hawkeyes were looking forward to this game when they stumbled a week ago and will be ready to upset the Michigan Wolverines.
