NFL Upset of the Week – Week 11
The Dallas Cowboys are on upset alert this Sunday
NFL upsets happens every week in the NFL. That was never more evident than a week ago when the Baltimore Ravens laid an egg against the Seattle Seahawks. While this was not new for Baltimore as they have also lost to teams like Jacksonville, no one saw this coming. It happened again when the Arizona Cardinals beat the Philadelphia Eagles on the road in a monster upset. There are certain things that stand out when picking out an upset and this week that upset can happen in Washington.
The Cowboys have looked good of late, but those games were at home and against subpar teams.
The Washington Redskins have several things in their favor heading into this game. They are very desperate and after losing five straight, the pressure is on for this team. SO expect an all out effort. The Redskins are home divisional underdogs, which is always a good angle to look for in the NFL when trying to predict an upset.
The sports betting trends also indicate that the Cowboys could struggle in this road game. The Cowboys are 3-10-1 ATS in their last 14 games as a favorite, 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games as a road favorite of 3.5-10.0, and 4 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing less than 150 yards passing in their previous game. Finally the Cowboys are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games when playing a team with a losing home record and the Redskins are 4-1 ATS in their last five against the NFC East.
With Rex Grossman back and the Redskins in desperate need for a win, a close game should be on tap this weekend. The upset of the week in the NFL is the Washington Redskins over the Dallas Cowboys.
