NFL Week 14 Betting Previews- Oakland Raiders vs. Green Bay Packers

The Oakland Raiders will try and do what no other team could this season when they square-off against the undefeated Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field this Sunday afternoon. The kick-off is slated for 4:15 p.m. (ET) and the game will be broadcast nationally on CBS.

Oakland suddenly finds itself in a must-win situation after falling to Miami last Sunday 34-14 as a 3.5-point road underdog. The loss dropped it to 7-5 straight-up (8-4 against the spread) and into a tie with Denver for the lead in the AFC West. The total went ‘over’ the 43-point line and has now gone ‘over’ in seven of its 12 games this year.

The Raiders’ problems were widespread this past Sunday, but a good chunk of the blame can be pinned to a poor performance by Carson Palmer. After progressing nicely since his return to action a weeks back, he took a major step backwards with a 20-for-41 completion rate against Miami that included a costly interception that was returned for a score.

Green Bay was finally put to the test this past Sunday in a 38-35 victory over the New York Giants as a seven-point road favorite. In a game that appeared to be headed for overtime, Aaron Rodgers found a way to lead the team down the field with less than a minute play to set up the winning field goal as time expired.

The Packers moved to 12-0 SU, but dropped to 8-4 ATS. The total went well ‘over’ the 53.5-point line and has now gone ‘over’ in eight of their 12 games this season. The offense continues to be the highest scoring unit in the league, but the defense continues to give-up huge chunks of yardage to almost every team it has faced.

Oakland is 5-1 ATS in their last six road games and 5-3 ATS in its last eight games overall. The total has gone ‘over’ in four of its last five games.

Green Bay is 3-2 ATS in its last five games overall. It is 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS at home this season and the total has gone ‘over’ in five of its last six games overall.

The Raiders have gone 6-2 ATS as an underdog this season while the Packers are only 3-3 ATS in their last six games as a favorite. It is doubtful that Oakland will be able to steal a win on the road, but stick with it to keep things close enough to cover with the 10 points.
