NFL Week 14 Betting Previews- New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys
Point spread: Dallas -5.5
Over/Under: 49
The New York Giants will look to keep their fading playoff hopes alive this Sunday night when they square-off against the division-rival Dallas Cowboys at Cowboys Stadium in a huge NFC East showdown. This game is set to get underway at 8:20 p.m. (ET) and it will be broadcast nationally on NBC.
New York came very close to ending Green Bay’s bid for a perfect season this past Sunday in a heart-breaking 38-35 loss on a last-second field goal in a game it closed as a seven-point home underdog. The total went well ‘over’ the 53.5-point line and has now gone ‘over’ in seven of its 12 games this season.
Eli Manning and the Giants’ offense did everything it had to put the team in an excellent position to win, but breakdowns in the defensive secondary on Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ final drive of the game sealed New York’s fourth straight loss. It is now 6-6 straight-up on the year (5-6-1 against the spread) and one game in back of Dallas in the division.

Dallas also blew an excellent chance at extending its winning streak to five games in a 19-13 overtime loss to Arizona this past Sunday as a four-point road favorite. The Cowboys had a chance to win this game at the end of regulation with a 49-yard field goal, but head coach Jason Garrett’s decision to call a time out right before a successful kick actually ended-up icing his own kicker into a miss on his next attempt. The Cardinals went on to win in overtime on a 52-yard catch-and-run for a score.
This huge gaffe helped to drop Dallas to 7-5 SU and 4-7-1 ATS on the season. The total stayed ‘under’ the 46.5-point line against Arizona and has now stayed ‘under’ in seven of its 12 games this year.
New York is 2-5-1 ATS in its last eight games overall and 3-2 ATS in its last five games on the road. The total has gone ‘over’ in three of its last four games.
Dallas is 2-4 ATS in its last six home games and 1-5 ATS in its last six games overall. The total has stayed ‘under’ in six of its last eight games.
Head-to-head, the Giants have won four of the last six meetings both SU and ATS including a 41-35 victory as three-point underdogs in last season’s trip to Cowboys Stadium. The total has gone ‘over’ in seven of the last eight games overall. In the first of two games this year, stick with New York to draw first blood with a SU win on the road.
