NFL Upset of the Week – Week 16
Week 16 could have more upsets than the usual week in the NFL. This week the biggest upset of the week will happen when the Miami Dolphins beat the New England Patriots. The Patriots are off a very big game in a win over the Broncos. The game was hyped and the Pats played very well.
The opening line in this game was 10.5, but the public is all over Terrific Tom Brady and betting windows are having trouble finding Dolphins backers. The Patriots defense will get lit up this week. They played great last week, but an injury will hurt them against the Dolphins.
The Patriots have placed defensive end Andre Carter on injured reserve, ending his season. Carter sustained a hamstring injury against the Denver Broncos on Sunday and had to leave the game in the first quarter. He had 10 sacks on the year before going down with his quadriceps injury and was almost certainly headed to the Pro Bowl. Now the Patriots will have to scramble to get help up front.
The Dolphins look like a competitive team and Reggie Bush is running the ball like he did at USC. The Dolphins are 23-6 ATS in their last 29 road games against a team with a winning home record and 7-1 ATS in the last eight games overall. The Dolphins are 21-8-1 ATS in their last 30 road games and 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 games as a road underdog. The Dolphins proved against Buffalo they can play well n the road and they are playing hard to end the season.
The Dolphins have the matchup in this game and should get a great outing from Brando Marshall, who will be an impossible cover for the Patriots secondary. Take the points, but don’t be surprised if the Dolphins win on the field.
