NFL Top Three Over/Under Plays- Week 16
For the second week in-a-row, the results on the NFL total line slightly favored the ‘over’ with nine games going ‘over’ the total, six games staying ‘under’, and one game ending in a ‘push’.
We doled-out a few early Christmas presents last week with a perfect 3-0 record on our picks, with the Jets/Eagles and Lions/Raiders going ‘over’ and the Titans/Colts staying ‘under’. This brings our year-to-date record to 27-17-1. The following are our top three ‘over/under’ plays for Week 16 in the NFL. All lines quoted are provided by BetOnline.com.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Tennessee Titans Over/Under: 40
Two weeks ago the Jaguars put-up 41 points on Tampa Bay, but have been held to 20 or less points in each of their other 13 games. They are ranked 28th in the NFL in scoring with an average of 14.8 points a game and the total has stayed ‘under’ in 10 of 14 games this year.
Tennessee gets the Even Stevens award this year for having an offense that is averaging 19.9 points a game to compliment a defense that is giving-up average of 19.9 points a game. It is little wonder that the Titans are 7-7. The total has also stayed ‘under’ in 10 of their 14 games this season.
The total has stayed ‘under’ in Jacksonville’s last four games against the AFC South and in four of Tennessee’s last five games against the division. The total has also stayed ‘under’ in the last four games between the two.

New York Giants vs. New York Jets Over/Under: 46
The Giants come into this New York City Championship Game with an offense that is averaging 23.9 points a game and a defense that is giving-up 26.6 points. With their backs to the wall in the NFC East Division race, look for Eli Manning to atone for last week’s 10-point effort against the Redskins.
The Jets are coming off a 45-19 beatdown at the hands of Philadelphia that snapped a recent three-game winning streak. Despite the inconsistencies with Mark Sanchez and the Jets’ offense, they are still ranked seventh in the league in scoring with an average of 24.7 points a game.
The total has gone ‘over’ in nine of the Giants last 13 games as underdogs on the road and in their last four games as an underdog overall. It has also gone ‘over’ in five of the Jets last seven home games as favorites and in four of their last five games as favorites overall.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Dallas Cowboys Over/Under: 50.5
Since Michael Vick returned to the starting lineup two weeks ago after missing three games with broken ribs, the Eagles’ offense has scored a total of 71 points. He comes into this game with a full arsenal of weapons as the injury list is finally free of any of the team’s skill players.
Dallas has been kind of a train wreck at times this season, but you cannot pin any of their recent woes on Tony Romo and the offense. Over the past three games the Cowboys have gone 1-2, but he has thrown eight touchdowns and no interceptions and the offense has averaged 26 points a game.
The total has gone ‘over’ in 10 of the Eagles last 13 games on the road and in five of their last six games following a SU win. The total has gone ‘over’ in 12 of Dallas’s last 16 home games and in 10 of its last 14 games as a home favorite.
