NFL Opening Odds Report for Week 17
This is the last week of the NFL regular season. There has never been a better time to get an opening look at the odds to see the best bets and the value plays for week 17. Looking at the odds will reveal what teams are in it to win it, and what teams may be resting their star players. Here is a look at some of the more interesting moves of the last week in the NFL.
Jaguars vs. Colts
This snoozer would usually never make the headlines in this article, or another one for that matter, but this week it has some reasons to watch. The loser of this game will be in line for Andrew Luck and the No. 1 draft pick in the NFL. The line opened with the Jags -5 and has since been bet down to -4. Blaine Gabbert will need to win this game if he hopes to be the future of the Jags.
New York Jets vs. Miami Dolphins
There is nothing on the line in this game, but pride. Or maybe a few jobs. Rex Ryan’s seat is getting hot and rumors of Mark Sanchez leaving are starting to circle. The surprising Dolphins actually opened up as two point favorites and that line has moved to -1.5 as the jets are getting some backing by the early betting.
Kansas City vs. Denver
The Broncos need to win this game and they are in as Tim Tebow could go to the playoffs. They have opened as 3 point favorites and the line has not moved although there is public betting money on Denver. This line may jump the key number if more public money comes in on the Broncos.
Many games still do not have lines on them as they are deciding what players will play or rest. Keep an eye on the odds, and see you next year on the opening line report!
