The LVH (formerly Las Vegas Hilton) SuperContest set an all-time record with 517 entries last year and promises to be even more exciting this year with the inaugural SuperContest Weekend planned for August 24 and 25. Last year’s Hilton SuperContest winner Sans Souci took home $320,200 with a record 60.5 points based on a 58-22-5 record (72.5 percent).
This year, contestants will get an opportunity to earn one of three free entries into the LVH SuperContest through a raffle taking place at the “Super Reception” at 6:30 p.m. (PT) on Saturday, August 25. There will also be a “Super Handicapping Seminar” that kicks off the weekend’s festivities at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, August 24 followed by a golf outing on Saturday.
Contestants can earn raffle tickets three different ways. First, each $1,500 entry into the LVH SuperContest before 5 p.m. on August 25 will earn five raffle tickets (maximum 10 based on the limit of two entries). Second, entering the “Super Golf Outing” earlier in the day on August 25 will earn two tickets, and lastly a football future wager of $25 or more placed before 5 p.m. on August 25 will earn one ticket (maximum of five). Other prizes will awarded as well such as rounds of golf, golf equipment and dinners. Raffle tickets must be picked up on Friday or Saturday that weekend, and you must be present for the drawaing at the “Super Reception” to win. If you already signed up for the SuperContest, the $1,500 entry fee will be refunded to you.
The LVH SuperContest involves making five NFL picks on sides against the spread each week for the full season of 17 weeks. Wins are awarded one point and pushes are a half-point with the max being five points any one week. There is also a Mini Contest for those registering before 4 p.m. on Monday, September 3. The Mini Contest is held over the last three weeks of the season and awards $10,000 to the contestant with the most points during that final stretch. The final deadline to sign up for the LVH SuperContest is 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 8.
Many contestants come from all over the country to sign up for the SuperContest and require a proxy to put the picks in for them on a weekly basis. A proxy is an individual who lives in the Las Vegas area and charges a fee for this service. There are several different SuperContest proxy services, so it is important to find out how much each one charges and what they offer.
Some like www.FootballContestProxy.com understand the value of customer service and make sure NFL lines are delivered to contestants in a timely manner via email every Wednesday when the lines are released. The easier it is for contestants to get the lines and make their picks each week, the more they can concentrate on handicapping the NFL games and focus on winning.
