2012 NFL Player Props – Most Receiving Yards Odds

NFL Betting Trends- Most Receiving Yards 2012 Regular Season

NFL training camps are open and as we get closer and closer to the start of another season. If you are looking to get into the action early, many sportsbooks have already released player prop bet odds for the 2012 regular season. This week we will focus our attention on which player will rack-up the most receiving yards this year. The following is a look at a few of the top contenders to accomplish this feat along with their current odds.

Calvin Johnson +250

At 6-foot-5, 236 pounds it is easy to see why Detroit wide receiver Calvin Johnson is such a big target in the secondary. Add in the fact that he has Matthew Stafford throwing him the ball and you can also see why he is the odds-on-favorite to lead the NFL in receiving for the second straight season. Last year this pair hooked-up 96 times for 1,681 yards and 16 touchdowns. Stafford threw for over 5,000 yards last year and you know he will be looking for his favorite target this season as well, lending some solid value to these odds.

2012 NFL Player Props Most Receiving Yards OddsLarry Fitzgerald +500

The Arizona wide receiver was ranked fourth in the NFL last season with 80 receptions for 1,411 yards. This followed what most would consider a sub-par season by his standards in 2010. Fitzgerald should definitely be among the leaders again this season, but the unsettled situation at quarterback drains a bit of value from his lofty odds. The one thing that is for sure is that whether it is Kevin Kolb or John Skelton throwing him the ball, the Cardinals are still going to rely heavily on Fitzgerald and the passing game to move the ball.

Andre Johnson +700

The 2011 season was one to forget for Johnson as injuries to both himself and his quarterback led to a disappointing 33 receptions for just 492 yards. He and quarterback Matt Schaub have had an entire offseason to not only get completely healthy, but to work on reestablishing the connection that led to 101 receptions for 1,569 yards in 2009 (which led the league) and 86 receptions for 1,216 yards in 2010. You would have to believe that Johnson and Schaub have to be itching to make-up for lost time, adding some tremendous value to these odds.

AJ Green +1000

The rookie wide receiver from Cincinnati burst onto the scene last season with 65 receptions for 1,057 yards which were the 17th most in the NFL. What makes these numbers even more impressive is the fact that another rookie, Andy Dalton was throwing him the ball. This duo has all the makings of becoming as potent as any other quarterback-wide receiver combo in the league and they are in the perfect offensive system to put up some really big numbers. While they might night get to the top of the list this season, they should definitely be on everyone’s watch list.

Top Value Pick

Brandon Marshall +1500

It has been a tumultuous few seasons for the well-travelled wide receiver, but he will be reunited with quarterback Jay Cutler in Chicago this season, which could add up to some big numbers on the field. When these two played together in Denver, Marshall caught 102 passes for 1,325 yards in 2007 and 104 passes for 1,265 yards in 2008. Depending on how quickly these two can come together this season, this could end-up being one of the most dynamic passing and receiving combinations in the league.
