NBA Betting Previews- San Antonio Spurs vs. Miami Heat
Pointspread: Miami
Total line: OFF
The San Antonio Spurs will look to snap a four-game road losing streak when they travel to American Airlines Arena for a Tuesday night tilt against the Miami Heat. Game time for this clash is slated for 7:30 p.m. (ET) and it will be broadcast nationally on NBA TV.
San Antonio has been a tale of two teams so far with a perfect 9-0 straight-up record at home and a 0-4 SU record on the road. Overall, the Spurs are 6-7 against the spread and the total has gone 6-7 as well. They come into this matchup fresh off a 102-91 victory over Phoenix on Sunday as 8.5-point home favorites with the total staying ‘under’ the 197.5-point line.
The Spurs are currently ranked third in the league in scoring with an average of 100.9 points a game and shooting 47.1 percent from the field. Their leading scorer, Manu Ginobili remains out of the lineup with a broken hand, but Tony Parker and Tim Duncan have picked-up the slack with a combined average of 28.8 points a game.
Miami is off to an 8-4 start SU and is 5-7 ATS. It is 3-1 SU at home this season (2-2 ATS) and the total has gone ‘over’ in eight of its 12 games overall. The Heat will be happy to be back home after posting a 2-3 record both SU and ATS in their recent five-game road trip which was capped-off with a 117-104 loss to Denver on Friday night as 3.5-point road favorites.
A recent ankle injury to Dwyane Wade should keep him out of the lineup for Tuesday’s game, so the spotlight will be on LeBron James to fill the void. He currently leads the Heat in scoring with 29.5 points and 7.4 assists a game while shooting 57.8 percent from the floor. Miami leads the NBA in scoring with an average of 106.2 points a game and is shooting 48.7 percent from the field.
The Spurs are 6-15-1 ATS in their last 22 games overall and 1-11 ATS in their last 12 games on the road. The total has gone ‘over’ five of their last six road games.
The Heat are 0-4 ATS in their last four games against the Western Conference, but 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a SU loss of 10 or more points. The total has gone ‘over’ in 10 of their last 13 home games.
Head-to-head, San Antonio is 4-1 both SU and ATS in the last five meetings and the total has stayed ‘under’ in eight of the last nine games. Stick with Miami to add to the Spurs woes on the road as it snaps its three-game losing streak with a win at home.
