NCAA Men’s Basketball Betting Previews- No.6 Duke Blue Devils vs. Maryland Terrapins

The Duke Blue Devils will look to get back on track in the ACC when they take-on the Maryland Terrapins this Wednesday night at the Comcast Center. The tip-off is slated for 9 p.m. (ET) and the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.

Duke comes into this game fresh-off a stunning 76-73 loss to the No.23 Florida State Seminoles this past Saturday as a 10.5-point home favorite. The extremely rare loss at home dropped the Blue Devils to 16-3 straight-up this season and 7-12 against the spread. They are 3-6 ATS on the road and the total has gone ‘over’ in six of those nine games.

Offensively, Duke remains one of the top teams in the nation with an average of 80.5 points a game while shooting 49.2 percent from the field. The one problem area has been under the boards, where it is ranked 133^rd in the country in rebounds with an average of 35.6 a game.

Maryland also had its hands filled with the Seminoles in an 84-70 loss last Tuesday as an 11-point road underdog. It followed this up with a 73-60 nonconference loss to Temple as a 10-point road underdog this past Saturday. The two-game slide has dropped the Terrapins to 12-6 SU and 5-8-1 ATS. They are 11-1 SU at home this season, but just 3-4-1 ATS. The total has gone 4-4 in the eight games.

This team continues to look for consistency on the offensive side of the ball. It has failed to score more than 61 points in its last three games and is now averaging 68.7 points a game. Maryland is shooting 43.4 percent from the floor and averaging 36.5 rebounds a game.

The Blue Devils are 1-4 ATS in their last five games in the conference and 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall. The total has gone ‘over’ in four of their last five games overall.

The Terrapins are 7-15-1 in their last 23 games overall and 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 games against a team with a winning record. The total has gone ‘over’ in 10 of their last 14 games in the ACC.

Duke has won five of the last six games SU, but the series is tied at 3-3 ATS. The total has stayed ‘under’ in four of the six games. Look for the Blue Devils to bounce back with a strong outing on the road against the outmanned Terrapins.
