Basketball Odds: Portland Trail Blazers @ Golden State Warriors Pick
In what amounts to be a very dangerous fixture for the visitors, the Portland Trail Blazers are going to take on the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night in NBA betting action on ESPN.
We have been a bit worried about the Blazers over the course of the last week or so. They have looked mortal at home to say the least, especially after getting blown to absolute bits on Tuesday night by the lowly Washington Wizards, who had just one win on the road all season long before that point. If Portland isn’t winning games at the Rose Garden, it isn’t going to be doing all that well on the road for sure. The team is just 4-10 on the road this year, and three of those four wins have come against teams that aren’t going to be anywhere near the playoffs in all likelihood by the time the season is said and done with. The big question on Wednesday night is whether or not LaMarcus Aldridge is going to give it a go. He only played for two minutes on Tuesday before tweaking his ankle, and he never returned to the game. Now, after a day of travel from Portland to Oakland, we have a hard time believing that he is going to be back on the court. If not, the Blazers’ best weapon that the Warriors just wouldn’t have an answer for would is going to be sorely missed.
The problem that the Blazers had last night was on the defensive end of the court though, and that’s what bodes so poorly about this game for them. There are times that Monta Ellis, David Lee, and Stephen Curry just light things up like it is no one’s business, and when all three are on their game, you just know that the Warriors have the potential to score 130 points against virtually anyone in the league. Ellis has been wildly inconsistent of late. He scored 48 against the Oklahoma City Thunder four games ago and had 33 against the Houston Rockets. In the other two games in the middle, he had just a total of 32 points. Of course, Golden State has won three in a row, including two straight wins here at Oracle Arena, and it has to be flying high now that it is inching closer to that .500 mark once again. Curry has an ankle injury that might be worth noting as this game goes on, but he is expected to give it a go on Wednesday night.
The Final Word: With the way that the Warriors are playing at the moment on the offensive side of the court, we have a lot of confidence that they are going to get the job done in this one. They are rightfully the favorites in this game, and we think that they are going to make their NBA bettors proud on Wednesday night. Portland’s woes against Golden State are numerous, as the visitors are just 6-18 ATS in the last 24 meetings in this series.
