NBA Betting Previews- Atlanta Hawks vs. Indiana Pacers
Pointspread: Indiana OFF
Total Line: OFF
This Tuesday night, the Atlanta Hawks and the Indiana Pacers will butt heads for the third time this season with the series tied at one game apiece. Tip-off at Banker’s Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis is slated for 7 p.m. (ET) and the game will be available on NBA League Pass.
Atlanta continues to try and keep pace in the Southeast Division with three wins in its last four games, but it is still six games in back of Miami at 22-15 straight-up (18-18-1 against the spread) on the year. The Hawks are 10-9 SU on the road and 9-9-1 ATS. The total has stayed ‘under’ in 14 of the 19 road games.
What has been most impressive about Atlanta, has been its ability to overcome injuries to some key personnel. Joe Johnson has missed the last two games with a nagging knee injury and remains questionable for Tuesday night and Al Horford remains out until late April with a torn chest muscle.
Indiana has a Monday night road game against Chicago on the slate before returning home to face the Hawks. It starts the week six games in back of the Bulls in the Central Division at 23-12 SU (17-18 ATS). The Pacers have won their last six games SU and are 4-1 ATS in their last five. They are 11-4 SU at home, but just 6-9 ATS. The total has stayed ‘under’ in nine of the 15 games.
Health has not been an issue for a Pacers’ team that is averaging just 95.9 points a game, but holding its opponents to 91.9 points, which is ranked eighth in the NBA. Five different players are scoring in double figures led by Danny Granger’s 18.3 points a game. Roy Hibbert leads the team in rebounds with 9.6 while chipping-in 13.5 points a game.
The Hawks are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games against the Central Division and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games on two days rest. The total has stayed ‘under’ in 20 of their last 27 road games.
The Pacers are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games at home and 7-22 ATS in their last 29 games with no days rest. The total has stayed ‘under’ in four of their last five games at home.
The favorite in this series is 17-4 ATS in the last 21 meetings and Atlanta is just 3-7 ATS in its last 10 trips to Indiana. The total has stayed ‘under’ in seven of the last 10 meetings overall. Stick with the recent series trends this time around as Indiana comes out on top as a probable three to four-point home favorite. The Free NBA Pick: Indiana 91 Atlanta 85
