NCAA Men’s College Basketball Betting Guide- Conference Tournaments
From now until next Sunday it will be non-stop action in men’s college basketball with both Major and Mid-Major conferences staging their annual tournaments. The prize at the end of this rainbow is an automatic bid to this season’s NCAA Tournament for the team that wins it all. Things get underway in the six majors this Tuesday afternoon with first-round action in the Big East and everything concludes on Selection Sunday with the championship games in the ACC, Big Ten, and the SEC tournaments.
The following betting guide takes a closer look at a the top team from each of the six major conferences in terms of not only their recent performance on the court, but where things matter the most; against the spread.
ACC
No.6 -ranked North Carolina may have played its way to a No.1 seed in the NCAA Tournament with Saturday’s dominating 88-70 victory over Duke as a two-point road favorite, but the ACC regular-season champion has been hot for awhile with a 7-0 record straight-up and 6-1 record ATS in its last seven games. The win over the Blue Devils raised the Tar Heels record to 27-4 straight-up and 17-13 ATS. They are 14-2 SU in conference play
Big East
No.7 Marquette closed-out the regular season with a convincing 83-69 rout of No.12 Georgetown as a five-point home favorite to finish with a 14-4 SU record in the Big East and an overall record 25-6 SU. The Golden Eagles come into this tournament as the second-seed and have a 6-1 record both SU and ATS in their last seven games. Overall, they have gone 16-11-1 ATS this year.
Big Ten
No.20 Indiana survived a mid-season 2-5 SU swoon to work its way to the fifth seed in the Big Ten tournament with a 7-1 SU run in its final eight games. The Hoosiers finished the year with an 11-7 SU record in conference play and were 24-7 SU overall. What makes them extremely attractive this week is a 5-2 record ATS in their last seven games and an overall record ATS of 16-9.
Big 12
Iowa State is another team that used a late-season rally to enhance its position in the conference tournament. The No.3-seed Cyclones are 7-3 SU in their last 10 games and 8-1-1 ATS including impressive SU victories over Kansas State as 7.5-point road underdogs and Baylor as two point home favorites. They are now 22-9 SU on the year and a very profitable 18-8-1 ATS.
PAC-12
Oregon ended the regular season with four straight victories to lock-up the No.3 seed in the conference tournament. The Ducks are actually 7-2 SU in their last nine games and a perfect 9-0 ATS. This late season rally has boosted their overall record to 22-8 SU and they finished the year 13-5 SU in PAC-12 play. Oregon has been profitable all season long ATS with an overall record of 16-11 including an impressive 9-2 record ATS on the road.
SEC
Tennessee’s overall record was below .500 at the end of January, but a dramatic 8-1 SU run in the month of February boosted the Volunteers to the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament. They have also been a veritable ATM over the past month with an 8-1 record ATS. This recent change in fortunes has raised Tennessee’s overall record to 18-13 SU and a very profitable 18-9-1 ATS.
