NBA Betting Previews- New York Knicks vs. Milwaukee Bucks
Pointspread: New York -2
Total Line: 205
Jeremy Lin and the New York Knicks will try and snap a three-game skid on the road when they travel to the Bradley Center this Friday night to square-off against the Milwaukee Bucks. This Eastern Conference clash is set to tip-off at 8:30 p.m. (ET) and it will be available on NBA League Pass.
New York’s recent losing streak reached three games with a 118-105 setback to the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night as a 7.5-point road underdog. The Knicks are now 18-21 straight-up and 17-22 against the spread. This recent downturn has dropped them to 7-12 both SU and ATS on the road this season. The total has stayed ‘under’ in 14 of the 19 games.
Jeremy Lin has settled into his role as the starting point guard for New York with 44 points and 16 assists over the past three games, but his team still came-up short where it matters the most; on the scoreboard. The team is still suffering from a learning curve as a result of its new-look lineup, but remains competitive in every game it plays.
Milwaukee is coming off a last-second 106-104 loss to Chicago as a 7.5-point home underdog. It has now lost six of its last eight games to fall to 15-24 SU on the year and 16-23 ATS. The Bucks are an even 9-9 SU (8-10 ATS) at home with the total going ‘over’ in 13 of the 18 games.
Despite tallying over 100 points against the Bulls, scoring has not been one of Milwaukee’s strong points this season with an average of 95.6 points a game. The Bucks have also struggled on defense; giving-up an average of 98.1 points a game which ranks them in the bottom third of the league.
The Knicks are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games following an ATS loss and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games following a SU loss. The total has stayed ‘under’ in 14 of their last 20 games against the Eastern Conference.
The Bucks are 2-7 ATS in their last nine home games and 5-13 ATS in their last 18 games overall. The total has stayed ‘under’ in six of their last eight games against the Atlantic Division.
Head-to-head, New York is 1-11 ATS in the last 12 meetings overall and 1-4 ATS in their last five trips to Milwaukee. The total has stayed ‘under’ in four of the last six meetings.
The recent trends in this series are stacked against the Knicks, but look for Lin and Co. to hammer-out a much needed road win on Friday night against the reeling Bucks. The Free NBA Pick: New York 88 Milwaukee 85
