NBA Betting Guide-March 27
The NBA regular season closes-out the month of March with an eye towards the postseason as the playoff races in both conferences continue to heat-up. Chicago currently holds a 3.5-game lead over Miami for the top spot in the Eastern Conference while Oklahoma City leads San Antonio by three games in the West. The race for a few of the division titles remains close especially in the Atlantic and Pacific Divisions.
This NBA betting guide is designed to single-out the teams that have been the top performers this season where is matter the most; against the spread. The following is a brief look at the top four that fit the bill.
The San Antonio Spurs have a comfortable 6.5-game lead over Dallas in the Southwest Division with an overall record of 33-14 straight-up through Monday night’s games. Even more impressive is their NBA-best 28-18-1 record ATS. The Spurs have especially dominated at home this season with just four SU losses in 24 games while going a highly profitable 17-7 ATS. The total has stayed ‘under’ in 15 of those 24 games. San Antonio has been far less effective on the road with a 13-10 record SU and an 11-11-1 record ATS. The total has gone ‘over’ in 16 of those 23 games.
The next team on the list is the Chicago Bulls; with a league-best 40-11 SU record to go along with a healthy 30-21 record ATS. The Bulls have already clinched a playoff spot and have a dominating 9.5-game lead over Indiana in the Central Division. Chicago has actually struggled to cover at home with a 12-13 ATS record verse a 20-5 record SU, but it has been a force on the road all season long with a 20-6 SU record and an 18-8 record ATS. The total has gone an even 12-12-1 at home, but has gone ‘over’ in 15 of the Bulls’ 26 games on the road.
It remains highly doubtful that the Toronto Raptors will be making an appearance in the postseason with an overall record of 16-34 SU, but they are a solid 28-21-1 ATS. The Raptors have been profitable ATS no matter where they play with a 13-10-1 ATS record at home and a 15-11 ATS record on the road. Be wary that the bloom might be off rose with a 2-4 ATS record in its last six games, which could signal that Toronto is already riding-out the string for this year. The total has gone 22-26-2 in 50 games this year.
The final team on this week’s list is the Orlando Magic, who continue to keep Miami in their sites in the Southeast Division with an overall record of 32-18 that has them just four games out of the lead. The Magic have been profitable ATS across the board with an overall record of 28-22 which includes a 15-11 record at home and a 13-11 record on the road. The total has gone an even 12-12-2 in Orlando’s 26 home games and is 11-13 on the road. This team’s recent form has been rock-solid with a 7-3 record both SU and ATS in its last 10 games.
A few other teams that have remained fairly profitable to wager on this season are the Oklahoma City Thunder at 37-12 SU and 27-22 ATS, the Minnesota Timberwolves at 24-26 SU and 27-23 ATS, the Atlanta Hawks at 30-20 SU and 26-22-2 ATS, and the Utah Jazz at 27-23 both SU and ATS.
A few teams that have a winning record on the court but have been less than stellar ATS include the Memphis Grizzlies at 26-21 SU but 21-26 ATS, the Los Angeles Lakers at 30-19 SU but 22-27 ATS, the Boston Celtics at 27-22 SU but 23-26, and the Indiana Pacers at 29-19 SU but 23-25 ATS.
