Thunder and Spurs set to play Game 5 this Monday night

The Oklahoma City Thunder go back on the road to the AT&T Center this Monday night to face the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 of their best-of-seven showdown in the Western Conference Finals with the series tied 2-2. The game is set to tip-off at 9 p.m. (ET) and it will be broadcast nationally on TNT.

Home court has ruled in this series with each team pulling-off two convincing wins in front of the home-town crowd. Oklahoma City has covered against the spread in three of the four games and the total has been evenly split 2-2. The Thunder covered as 5.5-point road underdogs in a 101-98 loss in Game 1 and covered the spread in both of its victories at home.

As expected, Kevin Durant has done most of the damage for the Thunder in this series with 116 point in four games with Russell Westbrook and James Harding combining for an average of 34 points a game. This trio has also chipped-in an average of 18.5 rebounds and 16 assist a game to pace the team.

San Antonio has to be happy heading home after a 20-point beatdown in Game 3 and a six-point loss in Saturday night’s Game 4 as a 3.5-point road underdog. Last Thursday’s loss snapped the Spurs 20-game winning streak including 10 straight victories in the postseason. The last time they lost back-to-back games was in early April right before they went on this tear. They are now just 1-4 ATS in their last five games after going 15-1-1 ATS in their previous 17 games.

The key to Monday night’s contest could be the play of Tony Parker. The veteran guard leads San Antonio in scoring in this series with 80 points but is coming off a dismal performance shooting the ball on Saturday night. He went just 5-for-15 from the floor and ended the night with 12 points. Manu Ginobili is the team’s second-leading scorer and Kawhi Leonard is second in rebounds to Tim Duncan with 32 in the first four games.

Prediction

As well as the Thunder looked the past two games they are just 5-12-1 ATS in their last 18 games in San Antonio. Stick with home court holding suit as the Spurs win and cover the five-point spread. San Antonio 108 Oklahoma City 101
