Boise State Broncos vs. Michigan State Spartans (-7.5)

Boise State kicks-off its final season in the Mountain West before moving to the Big East for football only next season. The Broncos finished second to TCU last season with an overall record of 12-1. The Horned Frogs have moved on to the Big 12, so it should be clear sailing to one last MWC title for Boise State. Michigan State has been opened as the third-favorite to win the Big Ten’s Legends Division at 4/1 and it is listed at 15/2 to win the conference title. The Spartans won the division last season at 7-1 and were 11-3 overall. They lost to Wisconsin in the Big Ten title game and went on to beat Georgia in overtime in the Outback Bowl.


Saturday, September 1

Michigan Wolverines vs. Alabama Crimson Tide (-10)

Michigan, with Heisman hopeful Denard Robinson at quarterback has been opened as the favorite to win the Big Ten this season at 2/1. The Wolverines are coming off an 11-2 campaign in 2011 but are still stepping-up in class by taking on the defending national champion on opening day. The Crimson Tide has been opened as 11/5 favorites to win the SEC along with LSU. Alabama is the third-favorite at 6/1 to successfully defend its title while LSU is a 4/1 second-favorite to win it all this year.

Auburn Tigers vs. Clemson Tigers (-2.5)

Auburn took a major step backwards last season after its national title run in 2010 with an overall record of 8-5 and a 4-4 record in conference play. The Tigers have been opened as 65/1 longshots to win this season’s BCS title and are listed at 22/1 to win the SEC. Clemson has its sights set on Florida State in the ACC and is the third-favorite to win this season’s conference title at 5/1. These Tigers are listed at 11/4 to catch the Seminoles in the ACC-Atlantic Division, but are moderate 40/1 longshots to win a national title.
