The Seattle Seahawks are a Lock to Beat the Carolina Panthers
The word “lock” does not get thrown around often in the NFL sports betting world. Gamblers don’t like to use it because at times it is considered a jinx, but sometimes it is warranted. The term “lock” basically can be defined as a sure-thing, or the best winner on the board. Since most gamblers think there is no such thing as a “sure-thing” they hate the term, but in Week 5, the closest thing to a lock is the Seattle Seahawks to beat the Carolina Panthers.
The Carolina Panthers are off a horrible loss. The team had the Falcons on the ropes and a fumble by Cam Newton started the downward spiral. Then the defense gave up a Hail Mary that allowed Roddy White to catch a miracle pass and set the Falcons up for a win.
Newton is under scrutiny and this is not something that he is accustomed too. The team itself is beginning to turn on each other and call each other out in the media. In short, they are imploding and should not be a favorite against any team in the NFL.
The Seahawks are off a loss to the Rams, but that can be overlooked for several reasons. The Seahawks were off a short week, had to travel, and the Rams are a better team than most people think they are.
Running back Marshawn Lynch is the best running back in the league right and the Panthers defense will have a tough time slowing him down. The Panthers are 24th overall in team defense, compared to the Seahawks who have the second best defense in the NFL.
The Seahawks have Matt Flynn ready to go, if Russell Wilson falters, but regardless of who is under center, the Seahawks are a lock to beat the Panthers.
