NFL Odds Week 7: Scanning For Top Plays
The early lines in the NFL are out already. After all the NFL is the most popular sport to wager on and it only serves the bookmakers to get them out as early as possible. It also aids the smart bettor who looks for the lines early before they are swayed by the sharps or the public. Getting the lines early provides plenty of value and puts the bettor at an advantage.
Here is a look at a few games that may provide value early.
The Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Cincinnati to play the Bengals in a prime-time affair. The Sunday night football game features two AFC North opponents battling for a shot at the title. The Bengals opened as one-point favorites but if you like the road chalk the time is now to get Pittsburgh with heavy action already coming in on the opening line for the Steelers.
Another team seeing early betting action is the New Orleans Saints. The Saints finally got their first win of the season and after a bye week they will travel to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers. The Bucs trounced the Kansas City Chiefs and the early line will provide value if you like the Saints. The Saints opened as 2.5 point favorites in this game, but there is no doubt the line will jump to three by kickoff. In fact there could be a chance this line goes over the key number of three.
Finally the Patriots are -10.5 point favorites over the Jets. The Jets are off their best game of the season and the Patriots were upset on the road against Seattle. If you like the Jets getting more than 10 points the time to get them is now.
These are just a few of the lines that provide some early value, but getting early is important!
