NCAA Football – Week 8

The Texas A&M Aggies have a real chance to make a statement on Saturday afternoon at Kyle Field for NCAA football betting action, when they take on the LSU Tigers in a crucial SEC tilt.

The Tigers were able to survive last week’s game at home against the South Carolina Gamecocks, but it surely wasn’t easy and was a sign that there might be more losses to come again this season. It’s bad news for Head Coach Les Miles and the gang, but the truth of the matter is that one more loss, and all hopes of the BCS as a whole are out the window in all likelihood, knowing that someone is probably getting through the rest of the SEC schedule with just one loss for the campaign, and it’ll be hard to justify taking the Bayou Bengals as a two or a three loss team. QB Zach Mettenberger and the offense have just been atrocious over the course of the last two weeks playing against some of the best teams in the SEC, and this is going to be no exception whatsoever this week. A&M has a defense that is a heck of a lot more talented than its numbers show, and this defense, which is known as one of the deepest in the land, might be tested by the hurry up offense that the Aggies will throw its way.

Texas A&M had the Florida Gators on the ropes in its first game of the season before letting it off the hook in the second half. Now how good of a loss does that look? The Aggies haven’t played the toughest schedule since that point, but Head Coach Kevin Sumlin clearly has a team that is going to be in a bowl game and clearly is going to be in a great spot in terms of the SEC chase this year. Don’t count out A&M as a potential SEC Championship contender, and pulling the upset in this game might get it back in the Top 15 in the nation very quickly. QB Johnny Manziel just keeps doing everything for this offense, though obviously, this is his biggest test of his young career. The frosh has thrown for 1,680 yards and 14 TDs against just three picks, and he has 676 yards on the ground with 10 more scores. There is nothing that this kid can’t do, and it seems like only a matter of time until his name in the discussion for the Heisman Trophy this year, especially if he wins this week.

Prediction:

Is it just us, or is LSU incredibly overrated? We do think that this team has the ability to beat any team in the country, but unlike last year, we aren’t necessarily expecting it. Missing both of the team’s corners from last year really hurts, and that might be something that Manziel can exploit. If A&M can get to 30 in this game, it’s going to ultimately win, and we think that it is going to do just that. Texas A&M 31 – LSU 24
