College Football Betting Strategies Week 9: Extra Rest Helps
The college football season is a long and grueling season. The players have plenty to worry about as college students to include football, school, and the social scene. With all of this to deal with it always helps a college student/athlete when they get some rest. This is also something that is critical to college football betting strategies.
Extra rest gives a team extra time to rest injuries and extra time to prepare for their upcoming opponent.
There are a few teams that will take advantage of that in Week 9 of the college football season. The most notable example of this is the No. 2 ranked Oregon Ducks. The Ducks are on a direct course for the BCS Championship and they cannot afford to take a loss to a horrible Colorado team. With the biggest game of the season against No. 11 USC the following week, head coach Chip Kelly needs all the extra time he can get to make sure his team is not looking past Colorado.
Arizona State played on Thursday against Oregon and they will be another team heading into week 9 with extra rest. They face the UCLA Bruins in a must-win situation after being embarrassed on national television. This is a big game in the Pac-12 as the Bruins will be attempting to leap frog the Sun Devils in the South division. Oregon and Arizona State are perfect examples of teams with extra rest, but there is another top ranked team heading into week 9 with more rest than either team.
The Ohio Bobcats head into Week 9 of the college football season off a bye week. Ohio slid into the Top 25 rankings and is ranked No. 25. At 7-0 overall if the Ohio Bobcats want to have any kind of respect at all in the polls they would have to finish undefeated. They go up against a tough Miami (OH) team on the road and the extra week will come in handy.
How these teams fare in Week 9 is yet to be determined, but the extra rest will surely help.
