NFL Upset Of the Week: Week 9
Browns Batter Ravens in AFC North Battle
The NFL Upsets happens every week and sometimes they come in bunches, but one angle that always deserves some attention is playing out in Week 9. When the Cleveland Browns host the Baltimore Ravens they are a part of a system that usually points out an upset.
The Browns are three point underdogs heading into this game and that makes them home divisional dogs and that is usually a solid bet when making a wager on the NFL.
The Browns have already played the Ravens once this season and they met on a Thursday Night Football prime-time stage. The Browns hung around against the Ravens and they had chances to pull it out. In fact the Browns have played tough against teams in the NFL all season long. They were only blown out in one game this year and that was against the New York Giants.
The Browns still put up 27 points in that game as their offense continues to evolve. They come into this game with confidence after upsetting the Chargers and will be fired up to go against a divisional rival in the Ravens.
The Ravens are banged up on defense and will be without Ray Lewis. Quarterback Joe Flacco has been inconsistent all season long and that could make this game closer than the experts think.
The Browns are 8-0 against the spread (ATS) in their last 8 games after scoring less than 15 points in their previous game, 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 when playing the AFC, and 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 games overall.
The Ravens are 0-5 ATS when playing a team with a losing record and 5-11 ATS in their last 16 road games going against a team with a losing home record. The Ravens will be caught napping in this game and the Browns will pull off the NFL upset of the week.
