NFL Lock of the Week: New York Giants Will Beat Down Bengals
The NFL Lock of the week for week 10 comes in a game between a AFC and NFC opponent. The defending champion New York Giants travel to Cincinnati to take on the hapless Bengals who have fallen on hard times.
The Bengals have a young core of talented players that can take this team to the next level, but it does not look like it will happen this year. Quarterback Any Dalton and wide receiver AJ Green are the two best players on the Bengals, but without a stout defense and supporting role players on both sides of the ball, their season is in jeopardy.
The Bengals are currently mired in the middle of a losing streak that has survived through a bye week. Teams usually regroup and play much better after a bye week, but not the Bengals who were beaten by Peyton Manning and the Broncos a week ago. Marvin Lewis may not have a head coaching job if this streak continues, but unfortunately for the Bengals they run into one of the best teams in the league this week.
The New York Giants lost a week ago to the Pittsburgh Steelers but considering the situation surrounding the area, it is understandable. The Giants travel and get a break from the devastation that is Hurricane Sandy and can focus on football. The Giants are road warriors and have been a blessing or football bettors.
The Giants are 38-15-1 ATS in their last 54 road games, 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a loss, and 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 games overall.
Meanwhile the Bengals are 6-17-3 ATS in their last 26 games following a loss and are showing no signs of breaking the losing streak.
That combination makes the Giants the lock of the week.
