The college football season is nearing its end and with the end of the season comes the most anticipated games of the season. The week 14 schedule includes championship games from the major conferences to include the SEC, ACC, and Big Ten.

These games have always drawn a lot of attention. They get noticed from the public as the games to be on and many novice bettors make the mistake of betting the biggest amounts on these games. That can be a big mistake that is costly in many ways.

The SEC Championship game between Georgia and Alabama was set on Saturday night. The Bulldogs crushed the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Crimson Tide romped over the Auburn Tigers in the Iron Bowl. This set up a matchup between the Bulldogs and the Tide for the SEC Championship and ultimately the National Championship.

The winner of this game will face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish for all of the marbles and therefore will set up as one of the most watched games of the year. The Bookmakers know this and they will be careful in setting a line. The opening is at Alabama -7 or -7.5 depending on where you shop for the latest betting line.

The sportsbooks will watch this line closely as big volumes of money come in and will adjust accordingly therefore making this one of the sharpest lines of the season. For that reason alone it would be best not to load up on this or any other of the championship games.

The most important aspect to betting on sports is money management and this is the time of year when people tend to lose it. Just because there is a big game on tap it is no reason to lose money management principles and your bankroll.
