NFL Lock of the Week: Week 15
The Detroit Lions and the Arizona Cardinals are two of the worst teams in the NFL. Both teams re floundering down the stretch and have little to nothing to play for. The Detroit Lion lost a Sunday night football game to the rival Green Bay Packers and will have zero incentive as they head wet to take on the Arizona Cardinals in the desert.
The Cardinals don’t have much to play for either and it showed in an embarrassing loss in Week 14 to the Seattle Seahawks. The Cardinals lost at a frustrating and franchise record setting way and later the coach apologized to the fan base and anyone in the organization. Ouch. The Arizona Cardinals just found something to play for. Pride.
The Cardinals were called quitters by members of their own families. That is enough to make a team show up to play. The Cardinals are at home and the Detroit Lions are playing so badly, there is no reason to believe they should be considered favorites against anyone. With that in mind the NFL will have one lock this week and that is the Arizona Cardinals.
Want more evidence of why the Lions should not be a favorite? The Lions are 3-11 ATS in their last 14 against the NFC, 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a loss against the spread and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games after accumulating more than 250 yards passing in their previous game. For as bad as the Cardinals have been they have a trend on their side for this game.
The home team is 8-0 ATS in their last 8 meetings. That trend will stay intact this week as the Cardinals beat the Detroit Lions in the NFL Lock of the Week.
