The Indiana Hoosiers are the best team in college basketball. They currently hold the No. 1 ranking in the top 25 college basketball polls and essentially a two game lead in the Big Ten Conference.

The Hoosiers spent this week beating the No. 4 ranked Michigan State Spartans and legendary coach Tom Izzo on their home court. With that win, the Hoosiers are guaranteed a No. 1 seed in the upcoming conference tournament and are virtually a lock for a top seed, maybe overall, in the NCAA Tournament. So the question to the rest of the country is simple, can anyone bet the Hoosiers?

The rest of the schedule for the Hoosiers sets up nicely as they play Minnesota, Iowa, Ohio State, at Michigan and only need to win three of the remaining four games to clinch the Big ten title.  Barring a complete travesty from the NCAA committee, the Hoosiers will be awarded the No. 1 seed in the Midwest Regional assignment in Indianapolis. This will assure that the Hoosiers will not only have a sweet path to the Final Four but a home crowd factor for a team that has a rabid fan base.

The most notable teams to challenge the Hoosiers will be the Miami Hurricanes, Duke Blue Devils, and the Gonzaga Bulldogs. However those teams mentioned will most likely receive a top seed, and in some cases a No. 1 seed which means they would not face the Hoosiers until the Final Four. The Florida Gators would have a shot if the three-ball was falling and Michigan and Michigan State deserve a mention although the Hoosiers have already played well against both Big Ten opponents.

The path is set for the Hoosier to win the National Championship. Cinderella often plays a role in March Madness, but it doesn’t look like anyone can stop the Hoosiers.
