Bang the Book College Basketball Rankings 2/26/13
The college basketball rankings are getting tighter as the season winds down. With conference play dominating the schedule and titles on the line, teams are giving it their all. Here is a look at the top five college basketball teams in the rankings according to Bang the Book.
There is no team better in the country than the Indiana Hoosiers. The Hoosiers have the Big Ten conference locked up after they defeated the Spartans on the road. There is a sound argument for Victor Oladipo to be player of the year and this team is a true contender for the National Championship.
Gonzaga is a legitimate top team in the country. Many will argue that their schedule does not warrant a high ranking but head Mark Few knows how to put together a national title contender. With two easy victories this week over Santa Clara and San Diego, the Bulldogs are on their way to a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
It must be March because the Duke Blue Devils are starting to heat up. The Blue Devils rolled over Virginia Tech and Boston College this week and could have Ryan Kelly back for a big matchup against the Miami Hurricanes.
The Miami Hurricanes had an unforgivable loss to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons last week. It did not help that the game was a basically a blowout. However this team is just too good to be out of the top five and they will be a presence in the NCAA Tournament.
After a tough stretch of basketball games against top-ranked teams the Wolverines are back on the winning track. The Wolverines defeated Penn State and Illinois and are primed for the big games left on the schedule against Michigan State and Indiana.
