College Basketball Rankings 3/4/13
With just two weeks before Selection Sunday makes its arrival, the college basketball rankings are changing once again. This year the No. 1 team and other top-ranked teams for that matter seem to get upset on a weekly basis. That is why it is no surprise to have a different top team that will be making its debut in the No. 1 spot.
Here is a look at the top five teams in the college basketball rankings.
The Gonzaga Bulldogs grabbed the top spot in the college basketball rankings for the first time ever in the history of their program. Mark Few and his team finished off a perfect record in conference play and deserve the top spot.
The Hoosiers had an unforgivable loss to the Minnesota Golden Gophers, but rebounded with a win over Iowa. Despite the loss, Indiana is still one of the best teams in the country.
The Kansas Jayhawks are clicking on all cylinders. They are winning basketball games by a wide margin and with no games left against ranked opponents they will end the regular season atop the college football rankings.
The Duke Blue Devils also lost a very winnable game dropping a road conference contest to Virginia. However a strong rebound win over top-ranked Miami keeps this team in the top of the rankings. With the return of Ryan Kelly, Duke is a true contender to win it all.
The Georgetown Hoyas crack the top five for the first time this season. The Hoyas have won 11 straight basketball games and have sole possession of first place in the Big East. With a big season finale against the Syracuse Orange, the Hoyas could stay in the top five for the rest of the year with a win.
