Bookie Picks 12/22/10

Hey All – Its the “retired bookie” coming at ya. BTB and I go way back. He actually started his gambling thru me so I had a bunch of years of profitability from him until he learned a thing or two. Now we remain good friends and he has asked me to give a couple picks daily so I will be doing it right here in the blog for now. My write-ups will be thoughts, analytics for some content but the picks go much deeper and I cant write all that much. So excuse the grammar problems and any of that nonsense and lets just win… I will re-post this opening paragraph along with my record each day!

Record 12-8-2
Wednesday, December 22 2010

@8:00 No. 19 Utah (10-2) vs No. 11 Boise State (11-1)

The Utah Utes are coming in to this Bowl game winning 8 out of their last 10 match-ups. During this period of time, the Utah Utes have averaged 35 points an encounter, while holding their opposition to an average of 20 points a contest. However, in their last 3 contests the Utah defense has surrendered 26 points a game. Offensively, Utah is averaging 19 points in their last 3 match-ups and that is down 16 points from their seasonal average.

The Broncos of Boise State just missed a BCS Bowl bid, which “should” put them in a extremely businesslike mood. Boise State currently is scoring 44 points a battle, while holding their opponent to 16 points per match-up in their last 3 games.

Pick: Boise State -16

@7:00 Chicago (16-9) at Washington (7-19)

Winners of their last 7 out of their last 10 match-ups, the Chicago Bulls will face a revamped Washington Wizard team. Over the last 4 starts, the Bulls have scored 100 points, while stingily holding the opposition to approximately 88 points a contest. In their last 5 encounters, the Chicago Bulls have been shooting a blistering 47.3% from the floor, while holding their opponents to 42.6% from the floor.

Losers of 8 out of their last 10 match-ups, the Washington Wizards had a rare blow out victory Monday night against a pathetic, injured plague Charlotte Bobcat team or maybe it was a psychological win due to the trade. Whatever the reason{s}, Washington is still a lousy team regardless if newly acquired Rashard Lewis plays tonight. Forget the old hook.

Pick: Chicago -2
