Game Overview

San Antonio opened this best-of-seven showdown with a 92-88 victory in Game 1 as a five-point underdog on the road. It took a 2-1 edge with a 113-77 beatdown of the Heat as two-point home favorites in Game 3 and has now regained a 3-2 advantage by virtue of this past Sunday’s 114-104 win as a one-point underdog at home. The total has gone OVER in the last three games of this series after staying UNDER in the first two.

To seal the deal with a victory on Tuesday night, the Spurs are going to need Tony Parker at full strength after he injured his hamstring earlier in the series. They will also need a big night from Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobilo, who broke out of his postseason slump in a big way on Sunday night with 24 points and 10 assists. It would also help tremendously if Danny Green can remain hot from three-point range. He has already set a new record for making the most three-point shots in a NBA Finals series.

The Heat will look to the Big Three of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh to even things up again in this back-and-forth heavyweight bout for their second-straight NBA title. These three combined for 85 points in last Thursday’s 109-93 victory in Game 4 as one-point road favorites. They racked-up another 66 points in Sunday’s loss but got a solid effort from Ray Allen. He chipped-in another 21 points while going 7-for-10 from the field and a perfect 4-for-4 from three-point range.

When Miami shoots the ball better than its 46.9 percent average in the playoffs, it usually wins. On Sunday, the team hit just 43 percent from the field as compared to a blazing 60 percent shooting performance from the Spurs. The Heat have also prospered when they keep the battle under the boards close in terms of total rebounds as well as limiting their turnovers to less than or equal to its respectable 12.9 postseason average. When it excels in all three of these categories, Miami is almost next to impossible to beat

Free NBA Finals Game 6 Pick

Despite some lopsided wins and losses along the way, this series appeared destined to go the distance from the opening tip of Game 1. Do not expect things to change now as Miami comes away with a fairly easy win on Tuesday night for force a deciding Game 7 this Thursday night.

Miami 104 San Antonio 94

Game Overview

The Big Three had a big night this past Thursday in Miami’s crucial 109-93 victory in Game 4 as a one-point road favorite to even this NBA Finals best-of-seven series at two games apiece. The total went OVER the 186-point line in that game and it has now gone OVER in the last two contests after staying UNDER in the first two.

LeBron James led all scorers with 33 points but it was the inspired play of Dwyane Wade that made all the difference in this win. He went 14-for-25 from the field as part of a 32-point night that was easily his best performance of this entire postseason. Chris Bosh also got into the act with 20 points and 13 rebounds in the winning effort. The big question for the Big Three in Game 5 is will they be able to duplicate this effort to regain the edge in this series?

The Spurs’ Tony Parker tweaked his hamstring in Tuesday night’s 113- 77 rout over Miami as two-point home favorites and while he logged over 30 minutes on Thursday night you got the feelings he was far less than 100 percent. He scored 15 points while dishing-out nine assists, but San Antonio has to hope he can return to the form that helped this team go 12-2 straight-up (10-4 against the spread) in the playoffs heading into these Finals.

To get the crucial win this Sunday in their last home game of this series, the Spurs will need a big night from Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili as part of their own trio of stars. It would also help if both Danny Green and Gary Neal can get some more open shots from beyond the arc after lighting it up from three-point range in the last two games. The biggest key could be taking better care of the ball. San Antonio committed 19 turnovers in Game 4 after turning it over a combined 17 times in its previous two games.

Free NBA Finals Pick

Both fighters in this heavyweight bout have taken their turn delivering their best shots in the first four rounds, but push comes to shove on Sunday night. The Spurs fully realize that it will be extremely difficult to win two games on the road to win this series, so bank on them using this last home game to take the 3-2 lead with the SU win.

San Antonio 104 Miami 98

Total Line: 187.5

Game Overview

Miami suddenly finds itself in an early must-win situation in these NBA Finals after getting routed 113-77 on Tuesday night as a two-point road underdog in Game 3. It now trails the Spurs two games to one heading into Thursday’s crucial Game 4. The total went OVER the 187.5-point closing line in the lopsided loss after staying UNDER the 189.5-point line in the first two contests. The loss dropped the Heat to 4-5 both straight-up and against the spread in their last nine games. The total has stayed UNDER in five of their last six outings.

This series is coming down to which team shoots the ball the best on any given night. That honor certainly did not belong to Miami on Tuesday night after hitting just 40.8 percent of its shots from the field. LeBron James put the ball up 21 times and connected just seven times. It also did not help that the Heat were once again manhandled under the boards; getting outrebounded 52-36.

Through San Antonio’s first 16 games in its march to a NBA title Tony Parker, Tim Duncan and to a lesser extent Manu Ginobili were the names you heard associated with a 13-3 SU (11-5 ATS) record. Tuesday night’s win was provided by a pair of sharp shooters that found their range at just the right time. Danny Green scored a game-high 27 points while going 7-for-9 from three-point range. Gary Neal was almost as deadly with 24 points that was fueled by a 6-for-10 night from beyond the arc.

Overall, the Spurs are averaging 100.7 points a game in the playoffs while shooting 46.4 percent from the field and 37.8 percent from three-point range. They are also averaging 43.2 rebounds a game while doing a great job at taking care of the ball with an average of just 11.9 turnovers over the course of the 17-game run. The one main concern for Thursday night is Tony Parker’s hamstring. He tweaked it in the second half of Game 3 and is awaiting the results of a scheduled MRI to determine his playing status for Thursday night.

Free NBA Finals Pick

This series is reminiscent of a heavyweight title bout in boxing. Each conference champion has taken its turn at delivering some pretty strong blows to his opponent through the first three games. Even if Parker is good to go, look for Miami to return the favor of Tuesday night’s embarrassment with a much better showing in Game 4 that evens this series at two games apiece.

Miami 94 San Antonio 90

Pointspread: San Antonio -2.5

Total Line: 187.5

Game Overview

It has been a tale of two halves in the NBA Finals so far. In Game 1 of this best-of-seven series Miami faded in the fourth quarter to fall 92-88 as a five-point home favorite. This past Sunday night it ran away from the Spurs in the second half of a five-point ball game to cruise to a 103-84 victory as a 6.5-point favorite at home to even things up at one game apiece. The total stayed UNDER the 189.5-point line in both games.

The key to the Heats’ win in Game 2 was a much better shooting performance from the field. After connecting on just 43.6 percent of their attempts from the field and 32 percent from three-point range in last Thursday’s loss they shot 49.6 percent from the field and a blazing 52.6 percent from beyond the arc to pace the win. LeBron James accounted for 17 points but it was Mario Chalmer’s game-high 19 points on 50 percent shooting that led the way. Miami has also done an excellent job taking care of the ball with a total of just 14 turnovers in the two games.

Everything that San Antonio did right to gain the early edge in this series went wrong down the stretch on Sunday night to even things up. The veteran combination of Tony Parker and Tim Duncan accounted for 41 of the Spurs’ 92 points in Game 1, but they were held to a combined 22 points in Sunday’s loss. The team as a whole shot just 41 percent from the field and turned the ball over 17 times after giving it away just four times in Game 1.

The Spurs still dominated the boards by outrebounding Miami 44-36 and they hit 10-of-20 attempts from three-point range behind Danny Green’s 5-for-5 night. Getting the win in Tuesday night’s Game 3 comes down to doing a much better job of taking care of the ball especially in the fourth quarter of this game.

Free NBA Finals Game 3 Pick

Most people expected this series to be a back-and-forth battle until the end and every indication so far points in that direction. With San Antonio back home for the first of three games, look for a much better all-around effort that leads to a 2-1 series edge in a victory that covers the 2.5 points. San Antonio 93 Miami 89

NBA Betting Odds: VietBet

Pointspread: Miami -5.5

Total Line: 187.5

Game Overview

Despite cruising to the Western Conference title with a 12-2 straight-up (10-4 against the spread) record in series victories over the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State and Memphis, the Spurs came into the NBA Finals as +195 underdogs on the series price. That all changed this past Thursday night with a stunning 92-88 victory in Game 1 of this best-of-seven series as five-point underdogs on the road. The total stayed UNDER the 194-point line and it has now stayed UNDER in six of their last 10 playoff games.

San Antonio shot just 41.7 percent from the field in Game 1 after averaging close to 47 percent in the first three series. It was outrebounded 46-37 and hit just 30.4 percent from three-point range, but the Spurs only turned the ball over four times and will all the star power that was on the court, their two All-Stars shined the brightest. Tony Parker scored a game-high 21 points but none bigger than the two he squeezed-out of an extended possession during the final minute of play to seal the win. Tim Duncan shook off the first half rust to end the night with 20 points and 14 rebounds.

Miami’s biggest star showed up to play on Thursday night with LeBron James recording a triple-double (18 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists) and the rest of the Big Three of Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh combined for 30 points, but in the end it was not enough. Whether you want to chalk it up to poor shooting down the stretch or fatigue from an extended seven-game series in the Eastern Conference Finals, the defending champs came up short when they needed to the most.

The Heat are averaging 96.6 points a game in the postseason and shooting 47 percent from the field, but they only hit 43.6 percent of their shots in Game 1 and 32 percent from three-point range. They only turned the ball over eight times; however six of them came in the second half. Miami went 8-1 SU (6-3 ATS) in its first nine playoff games in series wins over Milwaukee and Chicago, but since then it is just 4-4 SU and 3-5 ATS. The good news for Sunday night is that the Heat have not lost two games in-a-row since early January.

Free NBA Finals Game 2 Pick

It is hard to see Miami losing two-straight at home to start this series, but grinding out a victory against a veteran team like the Spurs is never going to be easy. Look for the Heat to bounce-back with the SU win to even things up at a game apiece, but the free NBA pick for Game 2 is San Antonio and the 5.5 points.

Miami 102 San Antonio 98

The Miami Heat looked for a while like it was going to steamroll everybody on the way to an NBA title. But they hit a road block with the Indiana Pacers, and now NBA Finals bettors at BetAnySports understand that they are facing a team that most certainly of championship timber in the San Antonio Spurs. Miami plays host to San Antonio in Game 1 of the Finals, which gets underway on Thursday night at 9 PM ET at the American Airlines Arena, with ABC televising.

Here is the setup for Game 1:

San Antonio Spurs at Miami Heat
NBA Finals – Game 1
Thursday, June 6 – 9 PM ET
American Airlines Arena – Miami

The Spurs are in an interesting position in that they have been idle for a while; in fact, it has been ten full days since they closed out their Western Conference finals series, which they won in four games against the Memphis Grizzlies.

In the NBA Finals betting odds at BetAnySports, the Heat is a favorite in Game 1 of the series:

Miami Heat -5
San Antonio Spurs +5

Over 188.5 Points -110
Under 188.5 Points -110

Heat wins game -230
Spurs win game +190

This series afford the teams some extra rest; if it goes seven games, it will lend on June 20.

In the 98 games the Heat has played this season, they are 78-20 straight-up and also a very strong 55-43 against the spread. And Miami had the best record in the league this season, earning itself home court advantage throughout the playoffs.

That’s obviously one of the reasons why the Heat is a favorite in the series. Here are the numbers as they have been posted at BetAnySports:

Miami Heat -220
San Antonio Spurs +180

When you think about it, this scenario could not have played out any better for Gregg Popovich and the Spurs. When you consider all the measures he has taken during the season to afford his stars some extra rest time, he could not have asked for anything more than to have al of this time off to take on the league’s defending champion. San Antonio has now played just nine games in the last month.

There is, of course, a flip side to that. And it is an obvious one. There is no getting around the fact that having all that time out of a competitive atmosphere could have a tendency to develop some rust. It can’t be helped, and no one would be surprised too much if the Spurs (-110 to go under 45 in the first half at BetAnySports) came out a bit cold. Keep in mind as well that Popovich made the infamous move of holding out Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker and Danny Green from the November 29 trip to Miami, which might now be looked upon as a way of not “showing the playbook” to the Heat (San Antonio lost that game by only five points), but remember also that it has been quite a while since those guys have played in the AAA. And with the expected “white-out,” shooting may be problematic at first. Manu Ginobili has made just four of his last 17 attempts from three-point range.

These are some of the things that push us toward an “under” in this game, as we proceed with the $1 Million Charles Jay / BetAnySports Spring-Summer Showdown (a simulation), and certainly under the first-half total of 93 (it’s -110 either way). After the Spurs closed out the Lakers so quickly, they had seven days off and then shot slightly under 44% in their game against the Warriors. And we also have in mind that Miami had a whole week off as well before going against the Chicago Bulls and bricked it in Game 1 (39.7%) against a capable defensive squad.

Here’s something else that is very interesting: San Antonio has held its opponent below 40% from the field in each of its last five road games in this post-season. Only one of those games went over the total. And that was against one club that was potentially deadly from the perimeter (Golden State) and another that made its living on the inside (Memphis).

Can they slow down the Heat to that degree?

Game Overview

After an extended nine-day layoff as a result of a four-game sweep over Memphis in the Western Conference Finals, San Antonio will be back in action on Thursday night in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. The Spurs are hoping to pick-up where they left off after going 12-2 straight-up and 10-4 against the spread in their first 14 playoff games this year. They started by sweeping the Lakers in four games in the opening round and then they eliminated Golden State in six by winning the final two games of that series by a combined 30 points.

This impressive run has been fueled by veterans such as Tony Parker (23 points and 7.2 assists) and Tim Duncan (17.8 points and 9.2 rebounds) but the team as a whole has played at a high level with 101.6 points a game while shooting 46.9 percent from the field. San Antonio has averaging 42.9 rebounds while committing just 12 turnovers over the course of its first three series.

Miami cruised through its first two playoff matchups with an 8-1 SU record (6-3 ATS) by eliminating Milwaukee in four games and Chicago in five. The only setback was a 93-86 loss in Game 1 of the conference semifinals against the Bulls as a 12.5-point home favorite. The conference finals against Indiana was a whole other story as the Pacers pushed this series the distance before a 99-76 romp in Game 7 as seven-point home favorites propelled the Heat to their third-straight appearance in the NBA Finals.

As expected, much of the credit for another Miami title run has to go to the elevated play of LeBron James. He has led the team in scoring(26.2 points), rebounds (7.3) and assists (6.4) while single-handedly carrying it to a crucial 90-79 victory in Game 5 with a third quarter performance for the ages. The Heat are averaging 97.2 points a game while shooting 47.2 percent from the field and 35.6 percent from three-point range. They are pulling down an average of 37.4 rebounds and turning the ball over 13.5 times a game.

Free NBA Pick

Look for Miami to take advantage of the Spurs’ rusty start to build an early lead on Thursday night, but in the end this game remains close enough for San Antonio to cover with the 5.5 points.

Miami 106 San Antonio 103

NBA Betting Odds: VietBet

Pointspread: Miami -7

Total Line: 181

Game Overview

Indiana has already defied the odds by taking this series the full seven games. It is now one win away from pulling of one of the biggest upsets in NBA playoff history after forcing a Game 7 with Saturday night’s 91-77 romp in Game 6 as a 2.5-point underdog at home. The Pacers shot 50 percent from the field in that game, just as they did in their two previous victories in this series. They completely controlled the boards by outrebounding Miami 53-33 and spread the ball around with four different players scoring in double figures.

The trick to winning on Monday night will be to duplicate that kind of effort one more time. Paul George led the team in scoring in Game 6 with 28 points and comes into this showdown as the Pacers’ leading scorer in the playoffs with 19.9 points a game. Roy Hibbert continues to dominate underneath with 10 rebounds and 16.9 points a game while David West and George Hill are chipping in a combined 30.7 points, 11.4 rebounds and 6.6 assists a game. It has been this kind of team effort as well as a stifling defense that has Indiana on the doorsteps of the NBA Finals.

The Heat appeared to take control of this series with a 114-96 victory in Game 3 as two-point favorites on the road. Since then, they have lost twice and needed a monster performance from LeBron James in Game 5 just to remain alive in a series they were heavily favored to win in five or six games. While the betting public will most likely jump all over Miami in this Game 7 showdown, it has yet to convince me that the gap between these two teams is really as wide as everyone thinks.

James is living-up to his reputation as the NBA’s best player with an average of 25.8 points, 7.3 rebounds and 6.6 assists in 15 previous playoff games this year; however too many times in this series he has been a one-man show with the rest of the team standing around watching along with everyone else in the crowd. Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh have all but disappeared from the picture over the past three games and Ray Allen has managed to score a combined 13 points in the last two contests. If Miami sits back and relies on James to once again bail it out, it could find itself in major trouble against the a very determined Pacers’ team.

Free NBA Pick

Conventional wisdom would tell you that the Heat should come out smoking on Monday night and cruise to an easy double-digit victory, but right now all the momentum in this series is with Indiana even though it has to play this game on the road. In the end, Miami will most likely win, but the free NBA pick is with the Pacers and the seven points.

Miami 93 Indiana 90

Folks who are engaged in NBA playoff betting at BetAnySports may have been expecting that the Miami Heat would take command in its Eastern Conference series against the Indiana Pacers. Well, the Heat is within one win of making it to the NBA Finals, and they can get that done tonight in Game 6, which is slated to begin at 8:35 PM ET at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

This is the setup for Game 6:

Miami Heat at Indiana Pacers
Eastern Conference Finals – Game 6
(Heat leads 3-2)
Saturday, June 1 – 8:35 PM ET
Bankers Life Fieldhouse – Indianapolis

The Heat got a nice effort from its defense on Thursday night, along with 30 points from LeBron James, to take a lead of three games to two and get themselves to the brink of a return trip to the Finals. Roy Hibbert wasn’t necessarily stopped, but the Pacers had only six offensive rebounds.

In the NBA playoff betting odds that have been posted by BetAnySports on this game, the Heat is the road favorite once again:

Miami Heat -2.5
Indiana Pacers +2.5

Over 183 Points -110
Under 183 Points -110

Heat wins game -142
Pacers win game +122

Game 5 had some subpar performances by players both teams are counting on. The Indiana starting backcourt of George Hill and Lance Stephenson had just five points total, and only eight points came from the entire bench. Sure, Paul George had 27 points, but he also turned the ball over five times.

The Heat (now listed at -210 to win the NBA title at BetAnySports) got only ten points from Dwyane Wade and seven from Chris Bosh, but once again Udonis Haslem was a difference-maker, with 16 points on eight-of-nine shooting. James sank a trio of three-pointers, as Miami shot 7 of 18 from beyond the arc, but the most important thing to remember coming into this critical Game 6 matchup for Indiana is the fact that their front line is still scoring at a decent clip. Hibbert, David West and George combined for 66 points, but the Pacers went through a major lapse in the third quarter, getting outscored 30-10 during one stretch.

This is obviously Indiana’s last stand, and they have played well in the post-season at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, winning seven of eight games, with the only loss coming against the Heat in Game 3. They were not competitive in that one, as Miami turned up the pace a bit on them and they were not able to keep up.

You’ve got to wonder how much of a role Wade is going to play, with the problems he is having with his knee. When a member of the “Big Three” has taken only eight shots in an entire game, it’s a little disconcerting, especially if James’ jump shot isn’t working, because there is no way LeBron is going to be invading the paint on a regular basis with Hibbert guarding the rim.

In the $1 Million Charles Jay / BetAnySports Spring-Summer Showdown, we need a win, and were siding with the home team. Now Miami will have a more difficult time dealing with Indiana’s inside game because Chris “Birdman” Andersen has received a suspension from the NBA as a result of his altercation with Tyler Hansbrough on Thursday. That, together with Wade’s problems and the desperation Indiana is going to feel on its home floor, make the Pacers worth a long look on Saturday.

Game Overview

The Pacers had Miami on the ropes for over half of Thursday night’s Game 5, but with no answer on how to contain the NBA’s best player, they fell 90-79 as 7.5-point road underdogs. The total stayed UNDER the 185.5-point line after going OVER in the first four games of this series. The loss also put them on the brink of elimination heading into Saturday night’s Game 6.

Indiana has stood toe-to-toe with the champs throughout this series, but in the two previous games it had won, it shot 50 percent from the field, controlled the boards in rebounds and held its turnovers to 13 or less a game. If the Pacers can reach or even exceed these same numbers on Saturday night, this series will go the distance with a Game 7 in Miami on Monday.

The Heat appeared to be in a haze on Thursday night in front of the home-town crowd for the first two quarters that led to a four-point deficit at the half. The third quarter started in the same fashion until LeBron James decided to put his team on his shoulders reminiscent of his Cleveland days to turn the tide in this game. He scored 16 of his game-high 30 points and ended the night with eight rebounds and six assists.

While James’ performance was exciting to watch, this game plan will probably not get the job done on the road this Saturday night. Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh need to elevate their play and Miami as a team is going to have to do a better job handling the Pacers’ front court in the paint. The Heat have been dominated under the boards throughout this entire series and you cannot always rely on a hot hand shooting the ball carry a team to a win.

Free NBA Pick

Not too many people gave Indiana much of a chance in this series and I am sure most of the money will be on the Heat to close things out on Saturday night. The fact remains that the Pacers have won three of their last four games at home against Miami both straight-up and against-the-spread and with their backs against the wall the free NBA pick is for them to rally for one more win at home to take this series the distance.

Indiana 94 Miami 93
