College Basketball Weekly Betting Angles November 21-23rd
Every week here at Bang the Book.com we will cover the college basketball season all the way up to and through March Madness by posting some betting angles that can help the basketball handicapper learn some rules and techniques that can put extra money in their pocket when betting on basketball. This article is designed to provide the handicapper with tips for betting on basketball that they can use for the entire season.
Here is a look at some of the betting angles that are in action for the next few days.
The college basketball season is different from the NBA because we are dealing with college kids. The college athlete can be easily affected by big news, huge victories and the college life. With this in mind, handicappers must take a different approach when it comes to betting on college basketball.
In college hoops the star player gets plenty of attention and that is especially true this season. With players like Marcus Smart of Oklahoma State, Jabari Parker of Duke and Shabazz Napier of UConn, doing well early in the season, they will continue to steal the spotlight. This could actually provide a chance for the handicapper to make some money betting on college basketball. A great game by a star player can be fun to watch but difficult to duplicate.
The player of the week had to be Marcus Smart. Smart had three good-but-not-great games against overmatched competition to start the season, but he turned in one of the most dominant performances on both ends in a blowout win over Memphis on Tuesday. This kind of output puts the Cowboys in a fade spot for the next game. The next game for this team will be on Monday, November 25th when the Cowboys head out on the road to play South Florida.
The Bulls are a good team and they have yet to lose on the season as they have posted a 3-0 record. They are led by Corey Allen Jr. on offense and play a tenacious defense with a strong emphasis on rebounding. However, this play is more a fade against the Cowboys, than a play on the Bulls.
The Cowboys team will play differently heading into this game. They are off a big win over Memphis and will have some letdown, but more importantly they will be relying too heavily on Smart in this game. Smart is a very good player, but he will not be able to duplicate the effort he had against Memphis. The rest of his team will sit by and watch him try and score which will make this Cowboys team one dimensional against a good defensive Bulls squad.
Play AGAINST: Oklahoma State
