College Basketball Report: Stock Watch Week of November 19th
Bang the Book.com has everything you need to successfully wager on college basketball. Every week we will break down the current college basketball teams and point out teams on the rise or the decline in our Stock Watch report. Every week we will post two teams that are rising up the ladder from a gambling standpoint and that are to be avoided when going to the betting window.
In this Stock Watch article, we take our first look at the college basketball season pointing out a pair of teams that should get your attention for one reason or another.
On The Rise
Who? That’s right the Drexel Dragons get the nod for our team that is “On the Rise”. Part of the beauty of our stock watch article is pointing out teams that you may not be familiar with. The reason that I will look to do this is because when the tournament approaches in the middle of March Madness you will be familiar with these lesser known teams.
The Dragons are a perfect 3-0 against the spread this season (ATS) and they are winning with defense, which explains the perfect 2-0 under record on all lined games. The Dragons are rolling through the NIT Season Tip Off at the RAC and early success for this team could equate to big success in the tournament when March arrives.
Getting to know players like Chris Fouch and teams like the Dragons can only benefit the handicapper in the future and that could turn into big profits!
On the Decline
Michigan State Spartans
It is easy to put the Michigan State Spartans in the “On the Rise” slot because after all they are the No. 1 team in the country. However, they are actually a team to avoid at the betting window.
The Spartans started the season by defeating the Kentucky Wildcats and that launched this team up the college basketball rankings. Despite the move in the polls, the Spartans are one of the worst teams when it comes to covering the number. The Spartans have yet to cover the number this season as they are 0-2-1 ATS to date. Head coach Tom Izzo is one of the best head coaches in the game and that is because he schedules tough competition early in the season.
This is bad to start the season because the Spartans will be challenged and have trouble cashing tickets for college basketball bettors. However it should be noted that the Spartans will be a team to watch later in the season. This experience will make the Spartans a better team and a better bet, later in the season.
