Stock Up

Duke Blue Devils

Picking the Duke Blue Devils in the “Stock Up” category may not actually surprise anyone. After all they are one of the best teams in the country and they recently beat the Syracuse Orange in one of the best games of the season. So why did they make the list? Teams that are coached by Coach K, turn it on this time of year and they will ride that momentum from the big win over the Orange to wind down the season as they head to the conference tournament. Jabari Parker (19.1 points, 8.8 rebounds, 37 blocked shots) is having one of the top freshman seasons in school history and he has 11 double-doubles and 26 double-digit scoring outings. Duke is shooting just 52.6 percent from the free-throw line over the past three games and that will make them a team to watch and bet on in the upcoming games.

Stock Down

Indiana Hoosiers

Basketball is king in Indiana, but the Hoosiers have fallen on some hard times. They have wins in the Big Ten conference and they have such a tough schedule down the stretch it is possible that this team does not win another game on the season.  If they do win a game they are a fade the next time out as they are 1-5-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last 7 games following a straight up win. Indiana has struggled handling the ball much of the season, ranking last in the conference in turnover margin (minus-2.42), but coughed up the ball a season-low seven times against Northwestern. The Hoosiers will revert to their normal ways in games against better opponents in the near future. The Hoosiers are a hot bed of basketball activity, but this will be a year that they want to forget.
