Bowl season is here! It’s the most exciting time of the year for college football fans. The Bowl season is a busy time of the year, so we wanted to split the bowl betting trends article into two parts. This trends article will focus on key trends and key matchups between now and December 28. We will have another article coming with trends for the bowl matchups after that date.

BangtheBook offered a trends to consider article during the baseball season, and now we’ll be having a college football trends to consider article during the football season as well. This will give bettors a good look at some of the most important trends to consider before placing a bet this week. Let’s look at trends to consider for games this coming weekend.

-The New Mexico Bowl kicks things off on December 21. Washington State meets Colorado State in this one. Washington State is 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games against a team with a winning record. Colorado State is just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 against a Pac-12 opponent.

-The Las Vegas Bowl pits USC vs. Fresno State. USC is in a state of flux right now, but they do know who their next coach will be. USC wasn’t a bit motivated for last year’s game bowl game, and they were beaten badly by Georgia Tech. Fresno State is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 Bowl games. USC is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Bowl games.

-The Sheraton Hawaii Bowl on December 24is a meeting between Boise State and Oregon State. Boise State has been a good bowl team in the past, but without Chris Petersen it’s hard to say how this team will fare this year. The over is 12-5 in Oregon State’s last 17 games. The over is 5-2 in Oregon State’s last 7 Bowl games.

-Utah State and Northern Illinois meet in an interesting matchup on December 26th in the Poinsettia Bowl. Northern Illinois was one game away from a BCS berth, but they lost to Bowling Green. Can they rebound to win this one? Utah State is 12-3 ATS in their last 15 non-conference games. Northern Illinois is 3-10 ATS in their last 13 neutral site games.

-Syracuse and Minnesota meet in the Texas Bowl. The Orange are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 neutral site games. The Golden Gophers are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games overall. Both this teams are red hot and their defense is strong. Expect this to be a high quality early bowl season game.

-The Kraft Fight Hunger bowl will be BYU vs. Washington. The Cougars are a perfect 4-0 ATS in their last 4 Bowl games. Washington is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games. The home team is 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 meetings between these two, but no one is at home in this game. This game should be tight all the way.

-The Belk Bowl is Cincinnati vs. North Carolina this year. Cincinnati is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 neutral site games and 14-5 ATS in their last 19 non-conference games. North Carolina is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games.

-Miami will take on Louisville in the Russell Athletic bowl on December 28th. Louisville had high hopes for this year. Despite going 11-1, they are in a December 28th game this season. Louisville is 12-2 ATS in their last 14 vs. the ACC. Miami is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Bowl games.

-Michigan and Kansas State is a quality game in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl. Kansas State is 0-5 ATS in their last 5 bowl games. Michigan is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 following a loss. The over is 6-1 in the Wolverines last 7 bowl games.
