BangtheBook offered a trends to consider article during the baseball season, and now we’ll be having a college football trends to consider article during the football season as well. This will give bettors a good look at some of the most important trends to consider before placing a bet this week. Let’s look at trends to consider for games this coming weekend.
-The New Mexico Bowl kicks things off on December 21. Washington State meets Colorado State in this one. Washington State is 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games against a team with a winning record. Colorado State is just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 against a Pac-12 opponent.
-The Las Vegas Bowl pits USC vs. Fresno State. USC is in a state of flux right now, but they do know who their next coach will be. USC wasn’t a bit motivated for last year’s game bowl game, and they were beaten badly by Georgia Tech. Fresno State is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 Bowl games. USC is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Bowl games.
-The Sheraton Hawaii Bowl on December 24is a meeting between Boise State and Oregon State. Boise State has been a good bowl team in the past, but without Chris Petersen it’s hard to say how this team will fare this year. The over is 12-5 in Oregon State’s last 17 games. The over is 5-2 in Oregon State’s last 7 Bowl games.
-Utah State and Northern Illinois meet in an interesting matchup on December 26th in the Poinsettia Bowl. Northern Illinois was one game away from a BCS berth, but they lost to Bowling Green. Can they rebound to win this one? Utah State is 12-3 ATS in their last 15 non-conference games. Northern Illinois is 3-10 ATS in their last 13 neutral site games.
-Syracuse and Minnesota meet in the Texas Bowl. The Orange are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 neutral site games. The Golden Gophers are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games overall. Both this teams are red hot and their defense is strong. Expect this to be a high quality early bowl season game.
-The Kraft Fight Hunger bowl will be BYU vs. Washington. The Cougars are a perfect 4-0 ATS in their last 4 Bowl games. Washington is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games. The home team is 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 meetings between these two, but no one is at home in this game. This game should be tight all the way.
-The Belk Bowl is Cincinnati vs. North Carolina this year. Cincinnati is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 neutral site games and 14-5 ATS in their last 19 non-conference games. North Carolina is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games.
-Miami will take on Louisville in the Russell Athletic bowl on December 28th. Louisville had high hopes for this year. Despite going 11-1, they are in a December 28th game this season. Louisville is 12-2 ATS in their last 14 vs. the ACC. Miami is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Bowl games.
-Michigan and Kansas State is a quality game in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl. Kansas State is 0-5 ATS in their last 5 bowl games. Michigan is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 following a loss. The over is 6-1 in the Wolverines last 7 bowl games.
