The college football season is in full swing and the action will begin to get even better as several teams head into conference play. This brings the football betting consensus report into play as a true handicapping tool that should be used every week to make money betting on college football.
Every week at Bang the Book we will go over the report and pick out a few games that we have noticed. This will include a winning pick on the busy college football weekend.
This week there are several lopsided games that are getting plenty of the public betting action, but in college football anything can happen. Just ask the Arkansas Razorbacks who lost to Louisiana Monroe at home in overtime after blowing a big lead.
Despite the upset, the public are still flocking to the big favorites as the Oklahoma State Cowboys are getting over 70 percent of the betting action despite the fact they were upset last week. However it could be because they host UL Lafayette this week.
Other big favorites getting heavy betting action include, but are not limited to:
Kansas State getting 69 percent of the action against North Texas as double digit chalk, UCLA getting 62 percent against Houston and Purdue getting 58 percent of the action as a 24 point favorite.
This week the focus is on small favorites getting betting action.
The Northwestern Wildcats are off to a good start to the season and the public is starting to notice as 65 percent of the public is willing to drop the 3.5 points on the Wildcats. The Cats host the Boston College Eagles and although they lost to Miami and beat lowly Maine, the offense has looked good.
The Eagles have scored 30 or more points in both games and they are worth a play in week three of the college football season.
