College Football Lock Of The Week – Week 8
When reviewing the college football schedule for the lock of the week, it is easy to get caught up in picking games that are off the radar, that the lines makers have not paid close attention, but this week it is the exact opposite.
In fact the college football lock of the week is in the game between the Colorado Buffaloes and the Oregon Ducks. The Ducks are a top ranked team slowly climbing up the BCS rankings and so the odds makers always have a keen eye on this team when positing the college football odds.
I insist on staying away from big favorites whenever possible, but there is clear evidence that the Ducks will squash Colorado in this game. Large top ranked favorites are going out of their way to cover the big number and impress the voters in the polls. This is making double digit chalk worth the wager in any game, especially this one.
De’Anthony Thomas is tearing it up in the backfield proving that the Ducks can overcome any injury and just reload with talent. Even when freshman Bryan Bennett took over at quarterback, the offense did not slow down and continued to pile up points. This was against a much better defense than they will face in Colorado.
The Ducks are 20-6-1 ATS in their last 27 games in October, 7-2 ATS in their last 9 road games against. a team with a losing home record, and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games as a favorite of 10.5 or greater. The Buffaloes are 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 games in October, 1-6 ATS in their last seven conference games, and 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog of 10.5 or greater.
The Ducks are the superior team in every facet of the game and will easily cover this number as the lock of the week.
