College Football Week 13 Odds: Rivalries Don’t Always Change Numbers
The college football week 13 schedule is covered with some of the best college football rivalries in sports. From the big game in the Big Ten between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Michigan Wolverines to the newer rivalries like the Thanksgiving game between TCU and Texas, this schedule has some great matchups, but the odds-makers don’t get caught up in rivalries.
In the Texas Longhorns game, the TCU Horned Frogs become the new tradition in the series. Before this holiday the Texas A&M Aggies had always played Texas in this annual tradition. The Longhorns are eight point favorites in this game and the top sportsbooks were more concerned with the recent play of the Longhorns as opposed to the tradition.
The LSU tigers and Les Miles will head to Arkansas to battle the torrid Razorbacks who are in the middle of a losing streak. This rivalry has a great and long lasting tradition as the Battle for the Golden Boot is always a back and forth battle between two SEC teams, but that did not stop the oddsmakers from posting a big line on this game.
The Tigers are 7.5 point chalk although they play on the road against a talented Razorbacks team. The reason for this line is due to the fact the Hogs have seemingly given up on the season and have a lame duck head coach in John L. Smith.
Finally the Iron Bowl between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Auburn Tigers has a long history of tough physical football games with everything on the line. Not this year, as the oddsmakers have made the Tide 31 point favorites.
