Every week the college football world is filled with amazing upsets. The underdogs always find a way to steal the show and make headlines on any given week. Week five in college football will be no different as plenty of dogs can step up and bite favorites.
The Texas A&M Aggies venture into SEC play and take on the Arkansas Razorbacks. The Aggies will become a member of the SEC shortly and games like this will be a weekly occurrence. The Razorbacks have had a rivalry that dates back years and is now about to be ignited all over again.
The opening Vegas line for this game opened as the Aggies listed as three point favorites. This is not really a big surprise considering the Aggies are ranked highly in the latest college football polls. The Razorbacks are off a tough beat down at the hands of the Alabama Crimson Tide. Up to the point the Hogs were undefeated and that game was supposed to prove that they are for real.
Instead the game turned into a rout and the Hogs looked out manned on nearly every play in the second half. The Hogs were beat up and wore down as the game continued. Now they have to get ready to take on the Aggies who are also off a demoralizing loss.
For the Aggies it may have been even worse as they blew a big lead and to the Oklahoma State Cowboys. A win could have vaulted the Aggies into the top five and now they need a win to reclaim elite status. The problem is the Razorbacks will be ready and don’t match up well in this game.
The Razorbacks have a quartet of talented wideouts led by Joe Adams and they will be difficult to cover. The Aggies were exposed in the secondary last week and could not protect the lead when they knew the Cowboys would be throwing to try and catch up. This will be a problem again when they go up against Arkansas.
The Aggies are 0-8 ATS in their last 8 neutral site games and are 0-6-1 ATS in their last seven games against the SEC. The Razorbacks are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games overall and they get the nod as the upset of the week in college football.
