It’s not always easy to find upsets in the world of college football. Last week I nailed the upset picking the Arkansas Razorbacks to stun the Texas A&M Aggies. The Hogs mounted a huge comeback and paid off for all underdog bettors looking for the upset.

There are certain aspects of the game that could help identify some potential upsets. In the SEC showdown between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Tennessee Volunteers there are plenty of reasons to believe an upset could happen.

First the Volunteers are at home and are listed as underdogs. When a team is at home as an underdog they always have extra motivation to play a great game. This motivation grows when they are home conference underdogs like the Volunteers are this week.

Secondly, the public is on the Georgia Bulldogs in this game. For reasons that elude me, the Bulldogs are a public dream this week and the betting money is pouring in on the road team. The line has shifted because of this and the Vols are now 2.5 point dogs after opening as one point dogs. This is a good time to fade the public play and take the home team.

Finally the Vols have a good team. Head Coach Derek Dooley has this team headed in the right direction and playing hard. Tyler Bray is a solid quarterback and has amassed over 1300 yards and 14 touchdowns on the season. Tauren Poole is solid out of the backfield and provides the Vols with a solid offensive attack.

The Bulldogs have talent under center in quarterback Aaron Murray, but then the talent drops off. For this reason alone, the wrong team is favored in this game.

Tennessee is 4-0-1 against the number in their last five SEC games and will pull off this upset on the road. Play the home underdog to get the upset and win this game.
