The 2014 NCAA tournament is always exciting to watch as potential upsets can happen on any given night. In the first week of March Madness both the Dayton Flyers and the Stanford Carcinal both managed to pull off a pair of great upsets. Those upsets managed to bet both teams to the sweet sixteen where they will now meet in hopes of advancing to the elite eight, getting one step closer to the Final Four.

Game Overview:

The latest 2014 NCAA Tournament college basketball odds for this game opened up with the Cardinal listed as (-2.5) point favorites. The public is betting on the boys from Stanford as this point spread has now jumped to (-3) points at some of the top rated online sportsbooks. The Flyers have pulled off two very improbable upsets, yet they are still not getting the respect that they deserve.

One could argue that the Dayton Flyers had the more impressive win to the sweet sixteen with wins over the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Syracuse Orange. The games however have been incredibly close. In their South regional opening round game against Ohio State last Thursday, their hopes rested on a missed shot by guard Aaron Craft in the final seconds. And in their 55-53 win against No. 3-seed Syracuse on Saturday, the Orange’s freshman star, guard Tyler Ennis, launched a shot from beyond the three-point line at the top of the key – which he’s hit countless times in the past – only to have it clank off the rim as time expired. The 11th seeded Dayton has now won its two games by a combined three points. Now they are hoping they have one more win in their arsenal as they take on the Cardinal.

The Cardinals also pulled off a huge upset as they took down the top seeded Kansas Jayhawks. Now people are starting to know their names. LikeStefan Nastic, the junior center whose game resembles that of a robot, but who finished the afternoon with 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting. Like Huestis, who had just six points Sunday but snared a team-leading eight rebounds. Like Dwight Powell, who struggled Friday but led Stanford with 15 points against the Jayhawks. Now this well-known team will look to take the next step in a long journey.

Regardless of who wins this game, it will be a Cinderella that will grab the attention of the world. On this night it will be the Flyers that get the victory and continue to amaze as they head to the Elite Eight.
