Denver Nuggets at Golden State Warriors Preview 4/10
NBA Bettting Preview
Denver Nuggets (47-31) at Golden State Warriors (47-31)
Thursday, 8:05 pm Eastern – TNT
SBG Global Opening Line: Warriors - 5, Total 239
Perhaps the biggest game of the NBA season so far takes place on Thursday night in Oakland as the Golden State Warriors host the Denver Nuggets. Both teams are tied for the last playoff spot in the Western Conference and the winner will take over sole possession of 8th place. Each team will have three games remaining after Thursday’s contest. Both teams trail Dallas by two games so it is likely that the Mavericks will take the 7th spot which means either Golden State or Denver is going to miss the playoffs. SBG Global reports that early NBA betting has the public taking Nuggets on the Road.
“Two good teams who deserve to go to the playoffs are going to battle on Thursday night,” Denver coach George Karl said, “When this thing all started evolving six or eight weeks ago, I remember circling the game with Golden State. We could get (to the playoffs) if we don’t win. It could give us a big leg up if we do win.” Carmelo Anthony ranks fourth in the league with 26.1 points per game and is averaging over 40 points per game in the Nuggets’ last three games. The Nuggets rank second in scoring at 110.7 points per game while the Warriors are first at 110.8 points per game. Both teams have weak defenses as well as Denver allows 106.9 points per game while the Warriors have the worst defense in the league, allowing 108.3 points per game. The Warriors scored 140 points on Tuesday against Sacramento and gave up 132. “It’s hard to be disappointed when you win and you score 140 points, but we’re going to have to start guarding people a lot better than we did tonight,” Warriors’ coach Don Nelson said. “They have shot-makers, but it’s hard to get a stop for us right now.”
SBG Global Current Line: Warriors -4.5, Total 239
If Golden State wins on Thursday the playoff spot will be theirs for the taking as they will play two of their last three games at home. Denver has had success against the Warriors though as they have won nine of the last twelve games against Golden State.
