College Football Week 14 Betting Trends
The Baylor Bears were being talked about for the BCS title game. A week later, the Baylor Bears train has completely derailed. Baylor was totally decimated 49-17 in Stillwater by Oklahoma State last weekend. The offense wasn’t as good as normal, and the defense was downright awful. The top three have separated themselves in the BCS, but Alabama faces a stiff test this weekend at Auburn. Will the BCS picture change any by next week? Lots of football action to take in this week after Thanksgiving! Don’t forget there are quite a few games on Friday in this week of the season.
BangtheBook offered a trends to consider article during the baseball season, and now we’ll be having a college football trends to consider article during the football season as well. This will give bettors a good look at some of the most important trends to consider before placing a bet this week. Let’s look at trends to consider for games this coming weekend.
-Thanksgiving night it is Texas Tech vs. Texas in Austin. Texas Tech started the year 7-0, but the wheels have fallen off as they’ve lost four straight games. Texas Tech has made a habit of collapsing down the stretch in recent years. The Red Raiders are 1-10 ATS in their last 11 November games. They are also 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games following a loss. Texas is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a bye week.
-The Iowa Hawkeyes are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games. Nebraska is 15-4-2 ATS in their last 21 home games against a team with a winning road record. Both of these teams have been playing well lately, and this should be a solid Big Ten battle.
-Something has to give when Bowling Green meets Buffalo in the MAC this weekend. Bowling Green is 18-6 ATS in their last 24 November games. Buffalo is 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The underdog is 7-1 ATS in the last 8 games in this series.
-Both Oregon and Oregon State were absolutely blitzed last weekend. It seemed as if neither team was interested. They should be fired up this weekend for their intrastate rivalry game. Oregon State is 12-3 ATS in their last 15 following a double digit home loss. Oregon is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games. The over is 10-1 in the last 11 meetings between these teams.
-Ohio State and Michigan meet in Ann Arbor this weekend. Michigan is down this year, but you never know what can happen in this classic rivalry game. Ohio State is 43-21-2 ATS in their last 66 games. Michigan is 15-31 ATS in their last 46 Big Ten games. The Buckeyes are 6-0 ATS in the last 6 meetings between these two hated rivals.
-Johnny Manziel certainly didn’t help his Heisman chances with last week’s performance, but he’ll get another chance in prime time against Missouri this weekend. Texas A&M is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games against an SEC opponent. Missouri is 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 games overall.
-Clemson and South Carolina have a nice rivalry going in the state of South Carolina. The Tigers are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 road games, but they are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 meetings with the Gamecocks. South Carolina is 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games against a non-conference opponent.
-Alabama is 11-5 ATS in their last 16 road games. The Crimson Tide are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. Auburn has covered six straight games against SEC foes. The Tigers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games. The favorite is 6-2 ATS in the last 8 meetings between these two.
