Free MLB Picks: August 27, 2014

Here are the Free MLB Picks for Wednesday August 27th:

Washington Nationals at Philadelphia Phillies

The Washington Nationals recently went on a ten game winning streak, but once that was snapped they came back down to earth and realized just how hard it is to maintain a winning streak. The Phillies are out of the playoffs but they continue to play hard on the field. Despite a tough season the Phillies are 4-1 in their last 5 home games when going up against a team with a winning road record and 4-1 in their last 5 games as an underdog of +110 to +150. The Phillies are a dangerous underdog that loves the spoiler role. Look for the upset with this live dog.

Free Pick: Philadelphia Phillies +135

Atlanta Braves at New York Mets

As mentioned earlier in the week, the Mets love to beat the Braves and they have one of their hotter pitchers taking the hill in this game. Zach Wheeler is 2-0 in his last three starts and he is getting control of his stuff as he is finishing the season on a high note. The Mets have won five of his last six starts and will be in a primed position to win this game. The Braves are 2-9 in their last 11 road games when they face a right-handed starter and 0-7 in their last 7 road games with the total set at 6.5 or lower. This is a sure sign that in close games the Braves are not doing what it takes to get the job done. They lose another close, low scoring game as the Mets win this game.

Free Pick: New York Mets +120

Tampa Bay Rays at Baltimore Orioles

The Tampa Bay Rays don’t have much to play for anymore, but they have some value in this game against the Orioles. Drew Smyly is red-hot and pitching well posting a 2-0 record in his last three starts with an ERA under one. The Rays are 21-7 in their last 28 road games and 12-5 in their last 17 road games when playing against a team with a winning record. The Rays sneak out a win behind a strong pitching performance.

Free Pick: Tampa Bay Rays +105
