Golden State Warriors vs. Denver Nuggets Game 5 Free NBA Pick
Date/Time: Tuesday, April 30, 8 p.m. (ET)
NBA Betting Odds: VietBet
Pointspread: Denver -7.5
Total Line: 213.5
Many bettors may have left Golden State for dead after David Lee went down with a season-ending hip injury in Game 1, but this team has proven to be just as resilient as it was throughout the regular season. The Warriors come into Tuesday’s Game 5 of this best-of-seven opening round series needing just one more win to eliminate Denver from the playoffs. Since losing Game 1 by the score of 97-95 as a 7.5-point road underdog, Golden State has averaged 118.7 points a game to take the commanding 3-1 lead. It is a perfect 4-0 against the spread in this series and the total has gone OVER in the last three games.
It all begins and ends with Stephen Curry as far as the Warriors’ chances to end this series in just five games. He put up 31 points in Sunday’s 115-101 victory in Game 4 as two-point home underdogs and is averaging 27.3 points a game in this series. Jarrett Jack has also stepped-up to help fill the void left by Lee with an average of 20 points, 5.3 rebounds and 8.3 assists. Overall, Golden State is shooting 53 percent from the field and 44.1 percent from three-point range.
When Danilo Gallinari was lost for the season with a torn ACL earlier this month, Denver knew its road to the Western Conference Finals had just gotten much tougher, but it never expected to be clinging to its playoff life in this first-round matchup. Despite finishing the regular season as the top scoring team in the NBA with an average of 106.1 points a game and averaging 108.6 points in their last three games, the Nuggets have still not been able to keep pace with the offensive firepower of Golden State.
Ty Lawson averaged 16.7 points a game this year and has elevated that figure to 23 points in this series. Andre Miller leads another trio of players that are averaging at least 15 points a game with 16.3 points but it still has not been enough. One of the glaring weaknesses in this series has been the Nuggets performance from beyond the arc where they are hitting just 31.3 percent of their shots.

Golden State may not come away with the straight-up win it needs on Tuesday to close this series out as there is still plenty of fight left in the Nuggets, but it is just too hot to bet against. Stick with the Warriors and the 7.5 points all the way in this one.
