It’s the last call for NCAA football betting action on Saturday night and the first chance to celebrate Halloween as well. Don’t let the matchup between the Idaho Vandals and the Hawaii Warriors scare you, though! We have all of the insight for the best college football picks available in this crucial WAC tilt.
Idaho has had itself one interesting season. We already know that QB Nathan Enderle is capable of big things. He is averaging just under 300 yards per game through the air this year, as he has 2,053 yards and 16 TDs to show for his work. Unfortunately, he also has ten INTs that have really come back to haunt his team. Offensively, he has really done a nice job putting points on the board, leading Idaho to at least 30 points in five straight games. Unfortunately, the defense has really been the letdown point, allowing 36 to the Colorado State Rams and 48 to the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in very surprising bad defeats. All told though, Enderle and the gang are not to be messed with, especially not at 431.3 yards per game in total. There are few teams that come onto the Big Island and really try to slug it out with Hawaii score for score. Idaho is going to give it its best chance.
We’re a little puzzled as to why the Warriors aren’t garnering some Top 25 attention yet this year. They’ve got the big upset over the Nevada Wolf Pack, and they are the only team in the country averaging over 400 passing yards per game. Yes, the ground game is non-existent at times, but who needs to run when you are already accounting for 491.4 yards per game and 38.5 points per game when all you do is throw the pill? Besides, who would do anything but throw the ball when you can get it out to WR Kealoha Pilares and WR Greg Salas? Salas is a legitimate NFL prospect, and he is one of two receivers in the nation that has over 1,000 receiving yards on the year. He’ll hop into first place in the country with WR Justin Blackmon of the Oklahoma State Cowboys suspended. Over the last two seasons, Salas is averaging 8.8 receptions and 132.9 yards per game. Pilares is absolutely the most productive No. 2 receiver in America. He has 60 catches for 891 yards and a team high 11 TDs. The man generating all of this offense is QB Bryant Moniz, who will become the nation’s first 3,000 yard passer on Saturday night. What separates this team from previous Hawaii teams though, is the fact that it plays some defense! The Warriors rank No. 37 in the land in total ‘D’ at 337.1 yards per game.
Still, how could Hawaii possibly care about this game when the trip to the Smurf Turf is on deck… This is a big time look ahead spot for the Warriors, and the Vandals might be able to come up and surprise some teams. Don’t just fall into the trick and take the hosts! Back the visitors and pick up a treat to start your Halloween.
