MAC East rivals meet to kick off Week 13′s NCAA football betting action, as the Kent State Golden Flashes take on the Ohio Bobcats at Peden Stadium.

The Golden Flashes have had a rough year, and this is their final game of the campaign. There was hope to get to a bowl game this year, but it just hasn’t panned out that way. The team hasn’t covered a game in over a month, and its win last week against the Miami Redhawks was the only halfway decent game which it has played in quite some time. QB Colin Reardon has been a disappointment all season long, as he only has 11 passing touchdowns in 11 games to go with nine picks. He is only completing 58.5 percent of his passes, and he is averaging right around just 150 passing yards per game. This is a team that relies on its rushers, though RB Trayion Durham and RB Dri Archer just haven’t panned out the same way this season that they did in years past. These two only have 1,138 yards on the ground combined this year with nine TDs, and that clearly didn’t cut it for an offense that was supposed to be a lot better than rank 109th overall this year.

Ohio though, looks like a team that just flat out doesn’t care anymore. The squad was outscored by the aggregate score of 79-3 against the Bowling Green Falcons and the Buffalo Bulls over the course of the last two weeks, both games of which came on Tuesday night in front of a televised audience. Granted, those two games came against the best two teams in the MAC East, but it is definitely a sign that perhaps this team doesn’t care all that much about going to a bowl game. Finishing 8-4 should at least get the squad there, but losing this one would put a bowl game in peril for sure. QB Tyler Tettleton was on the short list of players who could have been the MAC Player of the Year this year, but he only has 219 total passing yards in his last two games combined. That came on the heels of throwing for at least 300 in three games in a row. He has averaged less than four yards per pass attempt in these last two games as well, and that’s the real concern for an offense that figured to be more explosive than that this season.

Even though on paper, Ohio is the better of these two teams by a country mile, we just don’t see it happening. The Golden Flashes have pride on the line in this one, and they would love to come on the road in their finale and pull off the shocker at Peden Stadium.
