Pointspread: Miami -2

Miami quickly bounced back from a stunning 97-93 loss in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals as a 7.5-point home favorite with a dominating 114-96 victory as two-point road favorites in Sunday night’s Game 3 to regain a 2-1 edge in this best-of-seven series. The Heat had already won Game 1 in overtime 103-102 as 8.5-point favorites at home. The total has gone OVER in all three games.
It is obvious that when everything starts clicking for the defending champions, they become almost impossible to beat. In Sunday night’s win, Miami shot an incredible 54.5 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from three-point range. LeBron James led all scorers with 22 points and Dwyane Wade went 8-for-14 from the field to post 18 points while adding eight assists. The only edge that the Heat did not have was under the boards with 36 rebounds verse Indiana’s 43 but when you are shooting the ball as well as they did, that stat carries less and less meaning.
The Pacers are still very much in this series, but they face a must-win situation on Tuesday night to have any realistic chance to advance to the NBA Finals. They have to find a way to slow Miami down, as this team is not built to win shootouts with triple-digit scores. Its strength is in playing defense and making life miserable for anyone venturing into the paint.
Indiana is scoring 93.3 points a game in the playoffs after averaging 94.7 points in the regular season. It shot just 39.7 percent from the floor in Sunday’s loss which is not going to get it done against the Heat. George Hill, David West and Roy Hibbert combined for 60 points in the loss as the Pacers’ bench was virtually non-existent in this game. It will take a total team effort in Game 4 to turn this series into a best-of-three event.

Miami now knows exactly what it needs to do to beat this team and will look to bring that game plan on the road to Tuesday night’s game. The Heat are a perfect 5-0 straight-up and against the spread on the road in the postseason, so playing this game at Bankers Life Fieldhouse should have very little impact on the actual outcome.
Miami 101 Indiana 93
